Hmm I have been staring at it for a while but it seems out of place, how did it get on the stone slab? If not there I would have downloaded it.
EDIT: Maybe it used to be a bigger sign with additional metal on top of it, and the Super Mutants nearby ripped it off! That's why a part of the stone slab above is damaged. Now I will download.
The mod is a great idea, but the wording is not quite right. In the USA, almost every "Police Headquarters" as you called it is just "Police Department". I can't think if anywhere that uses the term Police Headquarters, except in old "B" movies. You might think about making two versions, One that says "Germantown Police Headquarters" and one the says "Germantown Police Department". Just adding this as I am sure someone else will come in and say the same thing. Otherwise it a great little mod and I will add it to my next play-through.
Hmmm, I used the default name existing in the vanilla game as I thought that it could be mentioned by that name in notes or by characters already in the game.
I would think that a "Police Department" could refer to any branch location but a "Police Headquarters" would be held in higher regard as a home base location and would have access to more resources. But hey I'm Australian so there may be a difference in culture and intent
Well if they used Headquarters in the core game lore than keep it. Maybe they were going for that 50's era cheep TV cop show vibe with the name. Bethesda does do strange things like that. So just ignore me. I do remember seeing allot of old TV shows were they would say Police Headquarters instead of the Police Department. I always wondered why, maybe the foresaw the coming of this games and its lore, LOL
The game calls it Headquarters, therefore that is its name, therefore the wording is correct and right and it is the only name warranted by the author of the game. If the view taken here is that the name is b movie in character then let us revel in the truth of that feature of play and playfulness is at play in this game. I cannot imagine anyone else would seriously question the use by Deanoman of the name given to the building by the game author. Indeed it could create mapping or similar conflicts to willynilly change the name because of some half-baked rationale. "Just adding this as I am sure someone else will come in and say the same thing." ha
I have downloaded and will install. I love these small texture enhancements. Installing these manually to overwrite existing texture files is so easy that it is tantamount to immediate gratification. We extend our gratitude, Deanoman. inahut
Er, there's real American Police Departments today with offices called Headquarters - eg DC Metropolitan Police Headquarters. While I've no idea if they've jail cells at their HQ, don't forget this is an imagined militaristic future police HQ set in 2077, so...
