Although the version is 0.4 this is the initial release. I have spent too much time fiddling around with it and not finalising anything. There still might be one of two rough edges, I may not have added all the textures to the plugin just yet and the plugin itself hasn't been cleaned just yet, it will be when it is complete.
It is still still in a working condition and nothing can be broken by using it.
Any suggestions as to what items to include or additional mods to have this style added to it are appreciated.
Version 0.5 makes a few minor changes and the plugin should be clean with no missing edits pointing to non-existent textures.
My focus over the next while will be on the New Vegas version but any glaring mistakes will be seen to. Shouldn't be any.
First of all thank you for your work. I found a couple of small issues with image paths. 1. Laborer Outfit icon has a path 'DLCPitt\Interface\Icons\d1_apparel_slave_outfit_laborer.dds', but the actual name of the file is 'apparel_slave_outfit_laborer.dds'. 2. Board of Education icon has a path 'Interface\icons\pipboyimages\weapons\weapons_nail_BoE.dds', and the name of this file is 'weapons_nail_board_BoE.dds'. So I created two new records in my merge file with updated addresses and everything is fine now. But there is one issue I couldn't figure out how to fix. It's with Gamma Shield Armor. The path is 'Interface\Icons\PipboyImages\Apparel\apperal_metal_armor_gamma.dds' and it points out to 'apperal_metal_armor_gamma.dds'. But for some reason the game refuses to load this icon and show the standard PipOS error. The file itself looks pretty normal. I tried to change the name of the file and corresponding pathin the esp, but to no avail. The easiest fix is just to add the path for usual Metal Armor, but it would be nice to see the icon with proper description about protection from radiation.
I've noticed a bug. This mod seems to accidentally replace the Pip-Boy image for the Power Armor Training perk with the same image for T-45d Power Armor, probably because they use the same image?
It's been a while, but if memory serves, that's due to you not invalidating the archives so the game notices the new additions. If you're using a mod manager, see if it has that option; MO does. Else, get yourself a mod like ArchiveInvalidation Invalidated and hopefully that solves the problem for you. Let me know.

Hey IWarriors!
That is quite the strange issue you have going there! If you don't mind me asking, what troubleshooting steps did you take to come to that conclusion? All DIFF3 does is route some item meshes to have a unique texture for its icon with description. Are you perhaps using any other extra perk mods or extended level mods? I would start there and disable such mods that could possibly affect levelling up, one by one, until you find the culprit. I would thoroughly recommend using Mod Organizer for such cases (if you aren't already) to be able to easily disable mods with a single click for troubleshooting purposes. Let us know how things go!
I only have 51 mods so it was just a case of making a save before the level up screen then exiting the game and reloading that save but disabling a group of mods at a time to narrow it down. After doing this a dozen or so times, I narrowed it down to this mod and this mod only.
At the time, I was thinking it was being caused by one of the big graphical mods.
Yes using MO for Fallout 3.
If it helps you, I can share what mods am using. Is there a way to share my list like with Skyrims Modwat.ch? If not, I can type it out or share the .cv list from MO.

Thanks for that, irgendeinuser! It is always great to have an extra pair of really perceptive eyes! I've fixed those up, though I hope you'll also give DIFF a try other than staring at the wonderful description as I can assure you there is far more wonders that await within the game!
DIFF.esp changes back the stats of some weapons, notably uniques from FWE. e.g. xuanlong, ol painless, victory rifle, that are silenced by default in fwe go back to being non-silenced. is the esp needed? arent the textures enough?
There is a patch to address this under The Wasteland Patch Collection, I suggest you download that and load the .esp AFTER DIFF. The reason there is an .esp and why it is completely essential is that by default the vanilla game has only a single icon for ALL the junk items. The .esp is used to give each junk item its own unique icon and description, the same for many unique weapons, apparel and items.
I hope this answers your question, and if there is anything else please do feel free to let us know! Thanks for using DIFF!
why thank you very much. that's exactly what I needed. I was gonna manually edit the esp but by the third weapon I got tired and disabled the esp. Gonna try that now
You're most certainly welcome!! That's what we're here for, as modders, to make each others lives easier and make things just work together. There is nothing worse than having to choose one mod over the other, I know this all too well. I hope DIFF brings you as much joy as it has brought to me and hopefully many more to come!
@hishutup kindly provided a plugin that applies all the WMX changes to DIFF. I finally got around to uploading it. Thanks @hishutup.
@deadmano has taken the DIFF treatment and applied it to the 'Vault Girl' icons. I encourage everyone to have a look at the work he has done. The link is on my description page. Nice job!

Would it be possible to have a version that only adds the icons?
