Early 2023 review: New collectables is always appreciated in the vast Capital Wasteland because finding only Bobbleheads and magazines could feel unsatisfying. For this collection author used all famous places which you will eventually visit when doing main quest (that's why I recommend to use this mod right at the start of playthrough). Of course, some effects and advantages which collectables provide unbalanced benefits for your character like increasing stats to maximum, but for experienced Fallout 3 players it won't be a problem. Also, nice to see individual collector's shack where you can see all your findings in all it's glory. Should you try this mod in 2023? Yes, if you want to find something new in the adventures, but remember that in the original form they will break your character progression being very OP with every model. 1. Severely underrated mod. 2. It is good mods like this that keeps Fallout games ever green. 3. Shoots two birds with one stone (collectible and perk mod).
Really well done mod. I've endorsed it. Only point I would make relates to the location of one item:
Spoiler:
Show
The Small Guns collectible is located in the Regulator HQ, according to the readme. Evil characters may not necessarily want to take the Lawbringer perk to access Regulator HQ just to get this collectible.
Other than that--which is, admittedly, minor--great work!
You could use the mod Chinese Stealth Suit and having the appropriate perks to match like the Silent Running (?) Perk and not sure if you could stack another Stealth Boy on top of it. Admittedly you could just have both. I found by running right to either Sonora Cruz or (the old guy, I can't remember his name) and usually you can make it to a dialogue box, if not use the resetai console command and tag everyone allowing you to talk to either Sonora or the Old Guy. Without using the Unofficial Patch I end up seeing the Bounty Notices for my character when I pickpocket them even when working strictly for either Sonora or the other guy. Plus I do not end up using both and not using a console command. I keep it basically vanilla play without being a criminal.
Read what he said,Kain.Locking the small guns collectible behind a location that can only be gotten with a perk is kinda bad design.Nothing of what you said was even relevant.
Thank you very much for a fun and unique mod millennium155! I already tried this and I am having a lot of fun with it. The windup toys are AWESOME! I really like this and it will definitely be in any future play thru I have in Fallout 3. Thank you very much!
@millennium155 - I already edited quite a few comments making mistakes (lack of sleep) but I also wanted to ask, is it possible to use the voice file extracted from the Sounds.BSA to give the Sentry Bot his voice to modify and use his in game voice for the toy windup?
I also imagined changing SentryBot's voice to sound Tinnier and perhaps like the SentryBot has accidentally ran into one of those large slime pools dotting the wasteland and was exposed to lethal to humans amounts of Helium, somehow changing it's voice module to emit a higher pitched "Do not interfere with Security Operations!" only sounding higher pitched. Would this be possible and what tools do you need to do it, aside from GECK that is.
I never modded using the GECK but if anyone interested in that idea for using a modified voice file for SentryBot? I can imagine what RoboBrain would sound like her voice cranked to Maximum Helium Mode Engaged I can imagine she would also sound funny. Mr. Handy and Mr. Gutsy would likely sound the best, especially Mr. Gutsy's "Huhahhh!" would sound absolutely insanely funny because of his exaggerated Military bearing in game - ( I know the files would need to be extracted but not sure what program to use to alter the pitch of a voice clip.
Anyways funny and awesome mod. It really adds to the game as I came across some of them and did an in game - I reacted in game and did a Double Take Mouse Shake. It felt like Carpel Tunnel suddenly kicking in but it made it worth it finding the Sentry Bot windup. Kudos.

If anyone wants to make it compatible they're more than welcome!
Umm, I mean, I'll give that a go, gimme a few days.
Edit: Better make that a few hours...
