Yes, I have full permission from Rez to host DC Subway here at the Nexus. It's a fantastic mod that was sorely missing from this site and I loved it so much that I began modding an addon for it despite knowing it might be difficult for others to access. Rez graciously allowed me to bring it back here to the site. Now let's all go take a ride on the train to celebrate!
Bethjunkie removed Metros Alive, along with the rest of her FO3 and FNV mods. I think the only reason this is still here, is due to bethjunkie being only the uploader and not the creator. As to if it is available anywhere else, currently, no, it is not, but bethjunkie did tell me that she intended to upload her mods to a site called Mods in Exile. You can haunt there, and see if it shows up.
Okay, I do not remember if she mentioned anything to me about it recently, so I will ask her on Discord and she what she says. I will get back to you as soon as I am able.
I finally heard back from bethjunkie today. She said that she intends to re-upload it, after she rewrites the description and documentation, but it is currently not a high priority. I will post back here if/when I find out she has posted it someplace again.
I say Druuler, thanks for the reply and info. I already have the mod (from before) but have been hoping (on behalf of the community) that someone could reach Beth to let her know folks still want it. And on behalf of them, thanks again for reaching her! ----------- [Oh, in case anyone else reading this is tempted to ask: no, as a retired modder myself who has been the victim of unauthorised uploads, I very much respect Beth's decisions and won't upload or share what I have, I'm sorry]
You are most welcome! Trying to help out around here is what I seem best at. :) Bethie and I have been online friends since around 2010, and with her leaving the Nexus over the file "deletion" issue, we moved on to Discord. Over this passed weekend, she did give me permission to share Metros Alive, but just not on the Nexus. Once I figure out where I am going to host it, I will let everyone here know.
Interesting. Many of the mods listed there were removed from Nexus by their authors when Collections became a thing. A lot of them just moved elsewhere. Crayonkit, V, MsRae, frogprincessQ4: https://damanding.xyz/ TH: https://www.trophihunter.com/fallout4-mods Gruffydd (and a bunch of other mod authors, including Arthmoor): https://www.afkmods.com/index.php?/files/category/108-fallout-4/ Many others are still here: https://mods.bethesda.net/en/fallout4 (Skyrim, Fallout 3, Fallout 4) Just an FYI if anyone wanted to know.
Rentry's site is apparently some random guy re-upping other folks' mods in an unauthorised way, ignoring wishes of the modders. And bear in mind that: a) some of those uploads may be virused; and b) some may be versions removed due to serious bugs.
Bethjunkie removed Metros Alive and the rest of her work just before the Collections feature for Vortex was implemented, and she has not uploaded them anywhere else.
Since REZ is not an active member of the Nexus any more (and has not been for several years) permission to do a conversion is not possible, unless you know how to get in touch with them. Therefore, you will have to do the conversion yourself if you want it done, unless there is a conversion on the TTW site.
This was a surprise. I found Tenleytown Station and the journey could begin. To run cars alongside the enterpoint is a stroke of a genius :) Gave me a very inclusive feeling. I am working on a similar setup but simpler atm and would like to use REZ' mod for the interior. I have borrowed and adjusted Joshua121's RETEXTURE. You can find my mod here.
I was going to say you would have to track REZ down and ask permission first, but according to the Permissons listed on the main page, this has been listed as a modder's resource and you can use the interior(s) as long as proper credit is given to REZ. Feel free to check the Permissons list to verify.
Thank You, Druuler! You have been a polite contributor all the way I have stumbled in your steps. Did you participate in Oblivion or firstly in Skyrim? I did Tropical Skyrim II which was based on the godsgiven work from a real genius, Soolie. For me those were the days. Lots of tears and anger but I woould never have swapped for anything!
I first started playing Fallout 3, then went to Oblivion, Fallout: New Vegas, Skyrim and Fallout 4 in that order. I still have (and use) my retail copies of FO3 and Oblivion. I should really make disk image copies of those to avoid any further damage to them....
Any idea how I can incorporate the running cars in my Anacostia Crossing? It makes me feel like a grave robber by only thinking about it :) In case someone would be interested I only need the passing cars on the sidetracks as in Rez' mod. Not the entering/traveling part. Just to create an atmosphere of wares being transported. The main cars can be static on the main track. Lots of idles around?
So does this work with the vanilla subway or are there entirely new areas? Does it change already existing subways or does it provide it's own with doors attached to the regular vanilla subway?
This is a separate system that runs parallel to the vanilla one. Access doors are located inside the various metro locations, usually close to the entrances/exits of the vanilla locations.
This is a great mod! However, i think it's better if you provide quests of how Subways could be up and running again, even lively in Metros Alive. In example : Some time ago, a group of wastelands finds Metro tunnels safer than other places in Capital Wasteland. So they live there, fought some Ferals and Mutants, build a settlement, and it's growing. In the end, Subway's up and running again. Many wastelanders move in to Metro Stations because of less threat from Super Mutant army, Enclave, and some faction who bring some menace in Capital Wasteland
