This mod should already cover all problem voices. As much as I would love working with other voice actors this mod is finished in terms of voices. The only thing I've been waiting for is lip-syncing. I haven't heard back from EMH in a LONG time so I'm guessing that's not happening. If anyone else wants to provide me with those that'd be much appreciated. That should be the only thing missing from this mod.
I hope you all enjoy the "mod". I have uninstalled FO3 to make room for other, more "fun" (as in not serious) games: Saints Row 4, Borderlands Pre-Sequel, and Far Cry 3. The GECK rarely worked on my computer and exhibited excessively odd behavior when it did so anything beyond voice-work is beyond the scope of my tools so I will only be contributing to the nexus in that way at the moment.
I am getting this right, this mod redone voices so they sound better right but without lip sync of the original mod right? By installing this mod, the original lip-sync of the alton,il will be lost, correct ? I also see a patch in Alton, il about fixing Atkin voice if you can't hear him. Does this mod cover atkin voice ?
So, I did as the description says, extracted the file into the Data folder for Fallout 3, but the voice are still the same. Do I have to restart the whole mod for this to work, or is it because I'm using FMM? EDIT: Nevermind, I figured it out now. REALLY appresciate this mod though. Alton IL was probably the best mod of its time, but the sound sure as hell aged poorly. This definetly fixes what was arguably broke
Your awesome. Just downloaded your newer mod dude, you have a great voice man, you should check out the TES renewal pages, i think we still might need a few misc voices if your not already on that
I would but I'm in school for software engineering (which means a lot of math based busy work), so I feel like I'm flaking out whenever I agree to anyone else's work and can't get to it.
AHA! THANK YOU! The reason I don't play this anymore is because I got sick and tired of the main bad guy sounding like a sterotypical 14 year old nerd with a retainer. IF his voice is changed, I will SO play this again.
Hello, check your file structure there is several .wav files sources along with the converted .ogg files unnecesarily increasing size of download by 300Mb (uncompressed).
Also the directory should be VOICE not VOICES, and the subdir should be the same as mod name that is ALTON, IL.ESM not ALTON.ESM.
My goodness. I'm surprised no one reported this sooner. I'll fix the file paths immediately. However, I don't want to touch the excess files.
I honestly couldn't figure out which files needed what file type so I pretty much just exported them all as both .ogg and .wav. I recorded it all in under two weeks so I didn't take much time on the filing. By the time I was done I just wanted it to be over with. :p
Yeah I just noticed when the wavs were removed Michael was silent I'm gonna try to copy them back in to see if that works. Fallout engine makes me scratch my head sometimes I never know which file it is gonna use too I'll edit this post if copying the wav files back worked.
edit: so the wavs are needed after all, Michael got his voice back after I copied them in (which might suggest the oggs are not needed but you never know with fallout + they're small so I agree keeping both is probably for the best.)

Happy gaming!

Hope that helps.
