in case people are unaware, the drugs in fwe are lore friendly
'chems' (formerly drugs) and medx (formerly morphine) had their inception in Fallout 3, to get around Australia's censorship of the game
fallout 1&2 featured: cocaine, barbiturates, peyote, crank, jet is referred to as methamphetamine, and your drug dealer companion speaks about growing opium, psilocybin and coca plants
Any chance of getting a slightly less severe version of this? Aspirin and Ibuprofen would likely still be around, and they are fairly minor. The Sack of Weed could be renamed to Bag of Reefer to fit the somewhat retro feel, perhaps. Overall I did find the plentitude of drugs jarring, and the clinical names were especially out of character for the game. At the same time, it would be nice to keep a little of the extra variety.
aahaha i feel you man. i hated those stupid chems and chem effects in FWE . They thought they were being smart but it actually prevents me from playing the game. You drink 1 bottle of beer all the sudden you're seeing double. Really? Am I that pathetic that I can't even take 1 beer? And it lasts no less than 5 minutes.
n o way man nobody sees double when they are drunk i don't remember ever seeing double. realistic was if you lose control of your keys or your guy walks randomly left and right and you can't control him when you had like 10 beers not 1 . hahah...is not realism is special fX ..but cigarettes and weed need to stay tho.
I totally understand disabling the drug visuals from FWE from the control panel... those really irritated me. However, the drugs themselves add variety and realism IMO. Where there are humans, there will be chemicals. Lots of chemicals.
I think with the realism imp more complex needs got it right even tracks your blood alcohol and causes negative effects. Not seeing double. But I get it. It ads to the "feel" of the game. Is an immersion mechanic rather than a realism element imho. The visuals make you feel like you are there getting drunk that extra touch.
You have never seen double while drunk? Either you're doing it wrong, or I've got a problem
But I agree, one beer shouldn't have any visual effect whatsoever. The maker of BLTC should have created a script similar to Bioshock's. Where one drink won't do anything, 2 will cause a slight blurring, etc etc.
The drug visual that really got on my nerves was the ant nectar. Here you are in the middle of "Those", finding yourself having next to no fire resistance, you get a way to resist at least 25%...and FWE makes taking the stuff like shining a spotlight dead smack into your face. :/ The other reactions I can understand (other than the Lone Wanderer being a complete lightweight and not being able to handle one beer, as already mentioned here), but this? Garbage.
i wasn't using any chems while playing fwe too many effects i could never see clearly plus the chems matching real world is a bit offputting for me . thats pretty much it. i like nv more cause alcohol increases your weight and decreases intelligence . and since you don't own a house in FO NV you use alcohol when you're over encumbered so you don't fall down with all the stuff you are carrying. and no F X on alcohol was crucial. i never took that cateye or that perk night vision was tinting everything blue kinda bad.
