Sensible Dismemberment is great for those, like me, was tired to see heads flying all the time. But there is a report that this mod needs to be disabled for the quest: Wasteland Survival Guide - Test the repellent on mole rats.
Nice list, very use-full, but could you add a warning to EVE please? Ive used it before and it has a tendency to be unstable in combination with quite a few other mods, so if someone were building onto that list they might get crashes or a volatile mod setup. I know its happened to me before while using EVE.
If you can show me 3 other good sources about EVE being unstable, i will add a warning. Not trying to be rude, its just i have not had any problems with EVE. Also, glad it helped
You recommend FO3Edit, but that's out of date. The latest editor is TES5Edit on the Skyrim nexus. It's fully usable with FO3, just change the name of the executable (same for FONV). You can find the latest TES5Edit here: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/25859/?
If you're running the latest build of FO3, it's already got the large-address aware flag set. It was old builds that didn't have it set.
Archive Invalidation Invalidated isn't needed if you're using FOMM or the Updated Unofficial Fallout 3 Patch. FOMM has a button in the interface you use to toggle archive invalidation, and the UUF3P executable will invalidate the archive automatically while installing. In either case, you don't need Archive Invalidation Invalidated.
I do also recommend using ENB (with the video processing turned off), but I recently found an interesting "quirk" with ENB and ATI video cards: while playing through Point Lookout, the Calvert Mansion interior walls will be transparent if ENB is active. I turn off ENB, play though the mansion, then turn it on again. Since I have the ENB effects disabled, I use Fellout in place of any ENB settings to make things look nicer. It also means you run faster... good for lower-end systems. If you have a high-end system, using the video processing in ENB is probably the way to go.
You recommend both the Unofficial Fallout 3 Patch and the Updated Unofficial Fallout 3 Patch, but the latter precludes the former. Use one or the other, not both. So I'd only recommend the Updated Unofficial Fallout 3 Patch.
All help is appreciated. It looks like your list is getting a little old, so my suggestions were more along the lines of an update than a criticism.
I have to update my own favorite mods periodically myself! I just updated to the very latest stutter remover - the game's never felt smoother. I tend to check things once every few months or so, but a few things (like the stutter remover), I sometimes forget and they'll be a year or more out of date.
If you like Point Lookout (it's my favorite of the DLCs), Point Lookout Reborn just updated yesterday. It makes the best DLC even better!
Alright, thanks a lot! Ive only started to use mods about half a year ago, so im still learning more every day! I will add most of the info you have helped me with by providing, there will be a new version, ill a special thanks to you in there somewhere.

This is not a true statement, they are indeed one in the same program but the one posted here at the nexus in the fallout 3 section is current and completely usable, notice the build numbers are the same as TESVEdit. So getting the one from here is perfectly ok.
Ok.. wow... that means i have to make another version... If anyones going to give me suggestions, make sure they are valid please, because its sort of annoying.
It's simply better to point people to TES5Edit since it is always up to date. FO3Edit only recently posted the new version, probably after being bugged by people about how out of date it is.
@JLF65: That's not true at all. There is no "better" way to download any of the edit programs. They are simply the same. I would argue that pointing new players to TES5Edit instead of FO3Edit could cause confusion. It seems like extra work for the layman to have to rename files and what not. Each version has it's own custom page w/ videos, notes, and of course user comments. Thus reading the tes5edit page for help with Fallout 3 seems... less than brilliant. I would leave it like you had it, seperate but equal.
Also, I'm pretty sure FO3 is not LAA. I believe you have gotten Skyrim and Fallout confused. Skyrim released an official LAA patch a while ago but this isn't the case with FO3. Fallout will use no more than 2 gigs unless you tell it to use more.
@CAUSTIC: Nice list of mods. There's a few that I missed like Point Lookout Reborn. Thanks a lot.
In response to post #17740469. #17746704 is also a reply to the same post.
I run 1.7 and the flag was already set before I did anything. If it's not set originally, then perhaps one of the mods like UUFO3P sets it automatically, just like it automatically invalidates the archive. If I'm wrong about the flag being set by default on the last build, I'm sorry, I just didn't have to set it when I checked to see if it was checked or not.
I still don't understand what you are referring to. The update 1.7 is the one I referred to in my previous post. It was published in 2009.
To make the game Large Address Aware, the Fallout 3.exe has to be changed and if you are using a 32 bit system, the boot.ini has to be edited. This is something that cannot be done by a simple mod or the Large Address Aware Enabler mod would not require you to manually edit the boot.ini.
The Updated Unofficial Fallout 3 Patch is an executable that copies files into the proper place, edits several files, and invalidates the archive invalidation, all automatically. I don't know that it sets the large-address aware flag, but it could. That's the kind of mod I'm talking about, not things like texture replacers and custom homes and the like. Between FOSE and stutter remover and ENB and UUFO3P and a few others, I've lost track of everything that's not a "simple" mod that does more than just copy a few files to the data folder. I should go back and check my original disc, but I highly suspect I'm wrong about the flag. You're right - I was probably thinking about Skyrim when I wrote that the last build had it set - I was thinking of the steam builds of Skyrim. My appologies over the confusion.

Could you please supply your source for this statement? To my knowledge there have been no updates since July of 2009 when update v1.7 was published.
