If anyone runs into problems with the optional file be sure to use a clean safe to prevent any conflicts between the original version of the mod and the newer version.
hey there i got you mod and I really like it, it is small sturdy and homely and had 2 questions 1st do you have a new vegas version and 2nd I am new to pc gaming always had a xbox and playstion and now I have to xbox one anyways like i said i am new to the pc and really like mods you can get but I want to how does one learn to do mods?
Comments and endorsements are allows appreciated. It's what helps make modding and putting my files up worth it. If you have any ideas or suggestions please comment away. Or ideas for a completely different style of home.
the mods worked fine. I assumed the ammo press need the Pitt DLC to be cleared first?
also, one of two 5.56 bullets on the lower part will unreachable if one is taken.
also, please lock the tunnel from megaton before the player could get the key since we can enter through the hatch but cannot resurface sincewe haven't got the key yet.
Unbelievable mod. This was fantastic. The shelter perfect. It hit everything right and is VERY lore friendly. And by god the story on that terminal was so well organized. The back story of this shelter was fantastic. From one writer to another, you did one hell of a job with this. The back story allowed this shelter to no longer feel like a mod, but part of the game. It was THAT damn awesome as an overall package.
Endorsed, great mod overall, one of the best lore friendly mods in the game. The shelter is small and claustrophobic, and it feels just right.
If you don't mind, I made a few modifications to the mod:
1. Added 4 weapon lockers to where the electric generator used to be, right by the entrance. 2. Removed the pillars, just felt they blocked the path a bit too much. 3. Changed the background logs, since going by Manya Vargas, Megaton is founded at least 4 or 5 decades after the great war. The story now is that the fellow who commissioned the shelter never made it in.
Really perfect home from which to begin exploring the early areas of the wasteland ! By the time I'd left the vault I was already approaching my carrying capacity, (pack rat), having kept my strength below 5... BTW the key to the fallout shelter is indeed in the mailbox beside the entrance, for those who had asked...
I'm using the version with the hatch that leads directly to Megaton - what a brilliant idea. The feel of the shelter is just right - not overly large, like many house mods, but with many labelled containers, a workbench, beds that give the "well rested" perk, and a detailed back-story accessed from the computer terminal.
My only question is regarding the ammo press - I read the instructions on the note left on the workbench, put ammo and scrap metal in the materials box as instructed, but when I access the terminal I get the message that "Access is denied" ? Could anyone who has got it to work post some clear instructions so I can get it working please ?
Thanks again gunslinger6792 for providing the exact player home I was looking for... Endorsed.
Very well done! I entered through Megaton sewer and what a nice surprise. The background story was very well versed and the atmosphere was perfect. Endorsed!
What a perfect player home. If you think about it our 101 refugee would totally gravitate to a small vault of her own since it's the only place she's felt safe her whole life. I'm not terribly disposed to having my character living in some squalid shack ( I know I wouldn't) and the huge player homes while impressive, are places to visit only, because you spend so much time traveling from room to room. This is my first play-through (I've spent a year and a half playing a massively modded Skyrim) all because Steam was selling FO3 for virtually nothing one day. I've loaded FWE so I really need food, water and rest immediately and this home provides it. What would be kinda fun is somehow leaving an old document or note pointing to the home in the original 101 access tunnel as a safe house that 101 investigators use when they are outside.
some questions: How do you use the ammo reloader since I'm new to the game and a bit clueless (maybe instructions in the terminal)?. Does the Ham radio do anything other than just turn on/off. What does the meat machine do? Can you cook raw meat in the oven (Is this even possible in Fallout 3)? Did the bath really have to look so disgusting? What texture mod did you use to take the images with since the posters in my shelters are totally blurred and quite a number of textures appear to be very low-res.
I know that some of this may sound silly but I'm going to be spending a lot of time here.
All-in all though this is a great player home and it's going to be the central place where my character lives. Thank you so much,

Hell yes.
