I thought that the original addiction attributes weren't as threatening as they should have been. Since you can just visit a doctor, -1 from a few stats wasn't nearly as threatening.
The addiction effects for all the chems have been increased quite a bit, and the addiction chance for a few chems have been increased. For example, Jet now decreases your agility and charisma by 3 and 4 instead of 1.
This also adds an addiction to Rad-X and Rad-away, but even by the original game's standards the effects are negligible (-10 rad resistance).
