This link here httpsorrywedontallowadflylinks.comTP20H this isnt a link, it's gotta be a link in order to take me any wheres. How do I download that D3D9.dll file?
I tried all the tips I found on the internet without success and finally completely frustrated thought "I wonder what would happen if I manually changed my affinity?" I Alt+Tabbed out of the game and used Task Manager to manually tell Fallout 3 to use only core 1 and 2, I've been using it this way for a week with ZERO crashes and only 2 freeze-ups during loading which made me have to shut the game down. Here's some pics for people who want to try it but are unfamiliar with Affinity:
Dear God, after hours spent trying to mod Fallout 3 in a viable manner, adjusting values in notepad, and digging way more into the realm of PC modding than I ever thought I'd have to, you provided the solution. Thank you so much. <3
Hi, I looked at this video and did what it said, and it did not help me. My problem wasn't freezing during character creation, it was just at very different points in the game. Right now, I was trying to help the brotherhood outcasts fight the super mutants, and it froze. 10 minutes ago it froze in the subway before helping them. Each time, a manual reset is the only thing that stops it, until i encounter it again 10 minutes later.
i already did all that before watching this, but i still get crashed in game from time to time, i was hoping this can help me fix it, but i will keep looking And yea, i play at max settings and my computer is a monster as well , since it can run a fully modded fallout 4 at max settings as well . Good tutorial thought, helps people that are new to modding, or those who finished fallout 4 and now want to try the older games too. Kuudos!
This did NOT work for me also, if you are the same as me and had searched to fix your crash at no vain... I've found a solution to the problem, see its simply FULLSCREEN mode:
1) open game launcher >> Options >> tick "windowed" >> OK >> Start the game ... if your game stops crashing then that is it!!!
2) windowed mode is ugly? then download this mod: http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/16001/? VIOLA!! you are welcome.
this has worked for me finally after hours of troubleshooting, I hope it fix yours.
this doesnt work. i read through the downloaded walkthrough...it seems you have assumed everyone has windows 7 professional otherwise we cant run in windows xp
It is not an assumption, the description clearly states it is for Windows 7. No other operating system is mentioned.
