Happy Two year Anniversary of this Mod, or rather, MOD RESOURCE!!! Buried in comments for two years are questions on how to use this Mod, install, what it is, how to make it work, if only someone knew how they would use it.

Two years ago i started the process, and failed horribly, to insert these song tracks into already existing GNR mods or the main GNR file itself. I finally gave up and turned all this authentic artwork pictures, and free range music into a MOD RESOURCE, as in, anyone with the skill and time can finally realize my dream, and get all these gems into REGULAR GNR rotation!

As said MOD RESOURCE there is NO WAY to use this as a MOD, or make it work for your Fallout games as is. Instead download it all, then play on an indepeneant MP3 player, or slap them into another Radio Station Mod that takes this format. But the TRUE goal is one of you brave MODDERS will realize the dream and get this all coded INTO GNR then share the link to your mod noting this as reference.

That means for everyone here, follow this MOD RESOURCE, then cross fingers and wait to have it applied to GNR MOD yet to be made, as well as a sticker poster mod for all the artwork to appear in game through new mods!!!

Finally, may soon be adding new tracks to add to overall file list, as well as MOD RESOURCE CREATOR FAVORITE TRACK LIST file, so you can play to the music I love best!

Thanks for all the endorsements and downloads, you all have made this the single most popular and beloved MOD RESOURCE for all games on Nexus!!!

i'm not sure what the hell this is exactly or how to use it..i mean, does this just add radio ads and stuff to GNR, cuz that would be cool...or..idk
    I'm very confused

Hey guys, I know I am a little late to the party here but I am finally starting to mod. I have a question......what is the difference between the "main file gnradsfanbasedmusic" and the "optional files super mix one stop shop"? The descriptions sound the same. I am sorry to repeat this question if it was asked before but again I am a newb to modding my games as I just got a new computer a couple months ago.

Sorry for the late reply: Here' s a little excerpt of desc of the files you' ve asked about

      gnradsfanbasedmusic:
Main file 100 songs/media. Exactly 100 tracks to fit into most 100 limit mods.

"Exactly 100 tracks" is the important part

      super mix one stop shop:
THIS IS EVERY SONG , radio show and advertisement found on this site AND the vanilla Fallout 3 game GNR Radio

"THIS IS EVERY SONG, ...", says it all I think

And don' t forget to dl the very interesting "Fallout int." which is not included in any of the files mentioned by you.

Hope this helps and enjoy this tremendous mod

Alright so here is another stupid question.....do I need to dl a radio replacer? Like gnr or enclave radio replacer?
One more thing, again I am a newb to the fallout mods so what is the "Fallout int." you speak of?

Update....never mind. I see it is the "International" dl. But as for my radio replacer question I would need to have answered still please.

I have been offline for three months due to travel and moving! I am so glad that there is so much interest in GNR radio replacers and Fallout 3 artwork ! This is a misdeeds resource, meaning you need to create or modify a radio station module. And basic skill in coding , scripting and troubleshooting with G.E.C.K .to plaster any images you find here in a mod. The good news is anyone can download all the images for personal use to wallpaper. Or download any audio to listen during gameplay on a third party MP3 player! So go ahead download. Everything and when you get the hang of Modding, wow thus community with the best radio station ever! Or maybe poster replacers too! Be sure to post link here so you get downloads and endorsements by the thousands of people who.have already downloaded!

Feel free to share as you want, I'm always up for suggestions, though right now I have separated all the files into basic categories with the understanding that they will always have in them one or two songs people don't like or care for. SInce this is a modders source, and not an actual mod, it is up to the downloader to incorporate with a mod, or, run on a separate MP3 playing device for their own use in game play. Since I've gotten quite a few endorsements, since I last checked in, tells me people actually getting into this, and the number of file downloads is awesome <3 I too am sorry for the late response, and please share what you have issues with, but understand I am currently letting this project sit as a free modder's source anyone can use at any time, under the stipulations given in the mod descriptions area. And I just love everything you share thankyou again

Na lad, I didn' t say, I don' t like some songs. Something about the "Ragtime replacer... " annoyed me namely the beginning. You hear someone puting the needle on the record and then hear a crackling noise before the song begins. So I started to remove the whole beginning to have just the song. I' ve also changed all songs to a sample rate of 192 bit/mono for this is the only sample rate FO3 is able to handle, if I remember rightly. Shall I send you an example via P. M. ?

      Take care

I got it The needle at beginning is because these songs only exist in record form. This means have to video record it from a phonograph directly. Sorry about that. As far as the bit rate of songs, I have stopped trying to convert anything. But I am excited to see if anyone will make a mod out of this. So far a few people seem interested to do so, We shall see Awesome to see ya. And hope we stay in touch.

You mentioned personal use only in the description. Does this include the Fan art?
I saw this as a great resource for some modding that is why I ask.

It starts out rather nice with public domain mentioned Does the DL include where the resource is from so in specific instances (if I want to use a poster from someone) is there a way to contact the artist? The Jet commercial is hilarious.

    Cheers!

Yup, personal use, such as to play in a game, or to share a free mod, etc. If you start making money off it, could be illegal. I was careful to keep artist names and other stuff in the artwork that wasn't free domain. So if the file has an artist name, you know as much as I do. Otherwise you can use anything here in a way that doesn't make money . All audio files where also taken from YouTube. So enter the exact name of each file, and you will pull up the author, and all sound information.

One last thing, you can do a Fallout 3 Image search. And of courser the websites have all the info. My advice is if you still can't contact the artists or owners, say the Dept of Civil Defense for Bert the Turtle, don't try anything that makes you money, keep it personal use. Again here is the law for you to consider before you make decisions.

Copyright Disclaimer Under Section 107 of the Copyright Act 1976, allowance is made for "fair use" for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, and research. Fair use is a use permitted by copyright statute that might otherwise be infringing. Non-profit, educational or personal use tips the balance in favor of fair use."

So to be clear, you can make a free community mod. Everyone here has. If you are using personal artwork, it is also free domain. As Bethesda own ALL RIGHTS WITHOUT CONTEST to ALL FALLOUT 3 AND FALLOUT NEW VEGAS , and even all unfinished Fallout 4 content. The second someone uses Nuka Cola, Jet and other drugs, or terms or images from Fallout franchise, it is automatically Bethesda Property as soon as it makes money. So really, you are not breaking the law using someone else's artwork on Fallout, you are just being nice crediting them, and asking permission to use their ideas. This goes for all fanmade Fallout radio shows and commercials. Bethesda has been aware of Nexus since pretty much day one, and loves it, cause the mods make people play their games more, rekindle desire to play their games, and doesn't infringe on their money making, in any way. As far as the music goes, go to YouTube and enter exactly the named file into search. You will get the accompanying video. As well as all the info. My advice, if not FallOut related, credit all artists , or make it clear how the non profit user can get the info any time they like. I'm excited to see your mod

Hello . Sometimes descriptions get buried in layers of updates. But this is a zipped, and simplistic source of MP3's used to spice up any Fallout 3 game. Some people even use them for Fallout New Vegas. With that said, I am looking for feedback to be more clear. Let's go ahead and go over what is available, in short descriptions, as well as on the Description page and README files.

Usage Update: This is indeed an MP3 source out. Meaning it is a single MP3 that still requires three copies for some mods, such as GNR Enhanced and Radio Active Channel for instance. If the MP3 doesn't just drop into a folder for whatever mod or way of music listening you use, I suggest you go to "http://fallout3.nexusmods.com/images/4219/? " for instructions to convert each file into the required two stereo and one mono you need to run it flawlessly in the game after naming it properly to allow for computer program to recognize and play the song. Thanks to GregoryCrey for reminding me a lot of people love GNR Enhanced and it is my wish all of you GNR Enhanced users easy ways to pick what songs to keep and what to dismiss. Due to the size of needing to triple this source, especially the episodes of Nuka Break, I have not converted the necessary mono and extra windows versions, nor have I renamed them as FULL CREDIT BY LAW must be given to each artist, and a search with those exact words in the MP3 file source in a YouTube search will give you all the legal and artist information, as well as any applicable videos attached such as with ALL the commercials and ALL the Nuka Break episodes. Shoutout to schaedelhoergler for showing a desire for my pictures. All are public domain, property of Betheseda or very clearly marked by title and artist, please don't redistribute without express permission of artist in case of conceptional property, ty. Enjoy!

Also in readme specific instructions for GNR Enhanced, or halfway through Traking Update 5 paragraphs down.

Edit: I have run into a problem, all GNREnhanced MP3 Stereo run at a constant bit rate of 192kbps and all mono MP3 run at 96kbps , while the mono wav files run at 353kbps rate right down the line of all 100 tracks and 10 ads. In order to maintain integrity and not potentially disrupt programing I can easily duplicate 192 with regular MP3 and 96 with mono MP3 but my current converter doesn't go past 320kbps. Does anyone have knowledge of a converter that goes to at least 353 kbps? If so i will continue the conversion process Otherwise I suggest everyone use their own converters maintaining the 96 for mono MP3 and 192 for the MP3 stereo files of my GNR file. and use your converter for 353 for the mono wav. I recommend staying at these precise kbps but there is no harm trying another setting and seeing if it works Please let me know if it does. The directions for converting for GNR Enhanced use is to take each MP3 I have in my files, and make three copies. Convert the main MP3 to Microsoft MP3 Audio , keep stereo, and set to 192 kbps. (Stereo is 2 Channels, Mono is 1 channel setting) Then take this new copy of the mp3 and then convert it to 96 kbps with only one channel making it mono. Now take this new mono file, and convert it into a Microsoft wave audio (wav) file. You now have three files of the same song. For easy reference put (stereomp3) at the end of the first in rename, (monomp3) at the end of the second and (monowav) at the end of the third. Now open your Data file of Fallout 3, go to sounds, go to songs, go to Radio, go to GNR and look at how all the songs and ads are marked.(Mine looks like this C:\Program Files (x86)\Bethesda Softworks\Fallout 3\Data\Sound\Songs\Radio\GNR) The songs for instance all look the same, with three versions, such as Track05, then Track05_mono twice in a row. One is a MP3 , the second MP3 mono and the last a wav Mono. Remember the three new copies of the song you made? You simply need to rename them exactly as the track you want to replace, one for each type of file, MP3 stereo, MP3 mono and wav mono. You just need to pick any song from my files you like and have converted into the three files, then rename them as the track you want to replace , then overwrite. Be careful not to overwrite main vanilla game tracks as there are scripts for Three Dog to announce sometimes before playing, and the song you copied over will be played instead of the announced song. It is also recommended you do not put ads from my GNR file into tracks of the GNR Enhanced tracks. Instead put them in the Ads section, at the top of the Track list. For the most part my ads are all copies of the ads already there, with 5 or 6 more new one. Pick the new ads I offer you like best and put into one of the ten slots replacing the ad you don't care for. I also advise you make a backup of the original GNREnhanced play tracks in a different folder so if you change your mind you can redo your list choice as 100 is the maximum. It's also wise to put all copies of the music of mine you like, converted into three files in a different backup file with the same names to save time on losing or having to reconvert them. Enjoy! All suggestions, comments, questions and reports of working on different bit rates are welcome!

Finally the description in Fallot 3 Mega Mix reads as follows,
THIS IS EVERY SONG , radio show and advertisement found on this site AND the vanilla Fallout 3 game GNR Radio! No need to pick and choose, just one full download. This is a source for modders who want to implement in game vanilla music and use all , or most, of the tracks found here. This is also perfect for people who don't know how to, or don't want to, fiddle with mods and just want to listen to ALL the music during gameplay on a seperate MP3 player. Enjoy!

To be very very clear, this is a MP3 upload that requires you to follow instructions given , or to download the mega mix and listen with a different mp3 player, ENJOY!

I welcome specific questions, or suggestions on how to be more clear so future confusion doesn't result. It is my desire to get this music to everyone.

This has quite a bit to do with Fallout 4. Earlier this year with leaked gameplay, and a test game trailer playing SImon and Garfunkels Sound of Silence, later blocked due to negotiations still in effect for actual music, I realized there was a music pattern going on. Some debate on it is actually written in the article I posted, (Click the tab at the menu hot bar next to Description called Articles)please read that to further understand why late 60's and early 70's music has been added, but in such a way you can remove it from your tracklists, as this is a modder's source more than a mod. It is this uploader's fault for assuming everyone saw that trailer, because once you do, you get excited, and suddenly feel the vibe of how this music fits. I will let you read the article for deeper information, but it's this logic here, Fallout 3 picked up from 1 and 2's slight affiliation of late twenties and early thirties music, then expanded into forties and early fifties music. Fallout New Vegas, picked up with lat fifties 's and early sixties's music. Logically Fallout 4 originally slated to pick up late 60's to early 70's music to follow the trend. But since this music is newer it is harder to work around music rights as the artisists are mostly alive now. So they need to pick and choose who to use. I was then encouraged to make alternate optional play lists you can use or drop at your leisure. Sorry for the misunderstanding, and have a wonderful gaming experience!

The world ended in 2077. An alternate history where music and fashion didn't quite evolve but everything else technology did. The misunderstanding is, it is the view of the future as envisioned by 1950's science fiction. It is also clearly stated multiple times that MOST of the music for download is World War 2 era, with separate files IF you want the extra stuff. The rest is explained AD NAUESIUM as to why. Feel free to browse anytime and read the debates and discussions. Varied taste is why there are so many separate files <3 Enjoy
