This is a good mod for me. However, for some reason, the memory function for the assigned keys is not working for me. For example, if I used a landmine, then the next time I have to re-assign the desired key.
For some reason anytime I clear a slot the game crashes, whether it’s from the config menu or holding down the key and apply new item to clear the slot it just crashes, any workaround to this?
That's FOSE bug mentioned in the Limitations. Just get a habit of saving the game before making a first assignment in a while. You don't generally hotkey new stuff a lot throughout the playthrough, so some crashes are a minor nuisance compared to convenience you get by using the mod.
Yeah I tried it again and you are absolutely right, this mod might be the best mod I’ve installed to Fallout 3, sure it still crashes from time to time when adding new stuff in the hotkeys, but the conveniences it brought way surpassed the inconveniences, very glad I gave it another shot.
Simply a must have for me. I use a LOT of mods and I usually like to try a bunch of new weapons added by various mods. Vanilla has only 8 hotkey slots and I use 1 for stims. This mod does it's job and grants extra features that Langy's version doesn't have. 10/10 mod. Wish this mod got ported over to NV as well.
Is there a way to change the defined keys outside of the game? My keyboards right control key doesn't work and I cant access the menu.
Edit: Nvm just used the console. But I'm having an issue where when I press the right mouse button, it brings up the hotkeys menu? And it also equips whatever it is in the number 1 hotkey. When i removed the mod, the issue vanished and right mouse button functioned like it did before. I don't know what caused this.
I wish there were a non-numeric hotkey item bind options to be used specifically for consumables like Stimpacks, Rad-Aways etc...i like my numeric hotkeys to be organized specifically for weapons and nothing else, like in most FPS games, whiole having say - "Q" key to be used for healing with Stimpack...i know there is a mod exactly like that for FONV, that uses JIP plugin, but no FO3 analogue anywhere to be found...Right now my only option is to choose between having 1-8 key slots reserved specifically for weapons and no stimpacks in one of them (which will force me to manually open my inventory everytime i go low on health, which s*cks) or having assigned Stim to one of the 1-8 keys, which will take a weapon slot (which yet again s*cks...), will probably have to settle for "1" slot to be stil used for Stmpacks *sighs*...why doesn't anyone come up with the elegant solution for the whole hotky buttons situation after all these years of FO3 modding scene is beyond me...yet we have countless of kawai and perverted mods and cheat items, that completely ruin lore -< priorities...
Yet I somehow had loads of weapons, consumables and even outfit sets bound to keys while barely ever using anything besides 1-5. I dunno, maybe that's because the mod has multi-item and modifier features and I actually used them?
It's funny to see such rant in the comments of the mod which addresses the issue.
CTD *very often* while binding an item to a hotkey.
Not compatible with More Scrap Metal CRAFTing ( https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/21761 ). As in will make the hotkey required to scrap world junk not work.
Terrific idea, but could really use some polishing.
I absolutely love this mod however i cant seem to hotkey some aid items. I can hotkey blood packs but i cant hot key any chems or human flesh. Any help?
I have the following 3 binding for slot 0 (according to "Print binding list"): [[ Slot 0: Vault 101 Security Armor Slot 0: Vault 101 Security Helmet Slot 0: 10mm Pistol ]] Pressing the "1"-button equips only a Vault 101 Security Armor. If i have only 2 binding for slot 1, then pressing the button works as expected (both items will be equipped). Is it a bug or I do something wrong?

Finally a fix. Better a decade late than never :)

So you can have all your weapon slots and put Stimpak on Lshift+1 for example...
