by the lore power armor is built to withstand the force of a 7.62 mm round (what an ak uses) which compared to other rifles is a big round.. but a laser would still burn through it instantaneously ( its a laser) and plasma would basically eat through it.. is there a way to make it so that guns do little damage to the armor and energy weapons are a suitable match for the armor?

I agree the power armour certainly is not as powerful as one has been led to believe it would be through the storyline. To me the T-51b is very weak compared to how it is portrayed within Operation Anchorage. Sadly I think that we are limited by the game engine, but if not it would be awesome if a modder could somehow significantly reduce damage against power armour variants by Small Guns, unarmed and Melle Weapons (with the exception of the Powerfist , Shock Sword, Ripper , Vampire's Edge and super sledge items) J
Voixdeville, thanks very much for the mod! I noticed that the BoS and BoS Outcast power armor suits DR is only 40 (or 75 for T-51 suit) but if I *buy* a suit of 'regular' power armor from Crow it is the proper 125 DR. The same for the Power Helmets: BoS and Outcast helmets are DR 10 but the 'regular' Power Helmet is 25 DR.
Is there any way to fix this so that the BoS and Outcast power armor suits are also the higher DR? Other mods I have installed are FWE and EVE.I really appreciate any guidance you can provide!
In the Fallout lore, a single soldier wearing the T-45 was like a tank. Took an entire city from the Chinese. And Tanks do take more than one rocket propelled grenade to destroy usually(of course it varies greatly on placement, tank type, warhead type...). But even still, there are records of Abrams and Merkavas taking 70+ rpg-7 hits. Whereas critical damage makes sense, maybe a shot hits in a joint in the armor, like the inside of the elbow, the seam of the helmet that kind of thing. I don't so much think its overpowered as much as I dislike the straight percentage method of armor protection.
Yeah, I too am not a fan of the straight percentage of armor. Vault Security Armor is a great example of why I hate it... if I hit someone wearing it in the chest, I could see it actually providing some protection, but come on! If I don't hit that vest, there's not much protecting them yet they still get that solid damage reduction :/... Hopefully Fallout 4 can have an engine that supports much more realism.
