Thank you for this. I've been looking for something like this. I use an increased damage mod, so less shots are need to bring down enemies, and I feel there is soooo much ammo strewn about normally.
same here, i'm using realistic weapon damage but there's to much ammo in the capital wasteland so that isn't fair, so i'll make it more immersive which is using this mods
This appears to work about 90% of the time. The other 10% of the time I find ammo boxes absolutely filled to the brim with just about any ammo I could ever need. Like 100 Railroad spikes. Here is hoping you are willing to come back and fix that remaining issue, because it's great other than that!
This is a great little mod. I was searching for a way to make the game more "mad - max like", and make ressources much rarer. Tinkered around with lots of mods, just to discover that in the end, this mod, making ammo much rarer, was all i needed to redo the whole economy. Btw. rare doesn`t mean you run out of bullets. But espescially in the beginning, it leads to some tough choices and the feeling of not being perfectly prepared for what is about to come. It makes the game much more intense, and prevents you from hording absurd amount of ammo and caps!
But for some reason, I feel that in the "gore bags" of Supermutants i tend to find more ammo then i should with the mod.... Maybe the author forgot about those when editing containers?
Thanks very much for making this. It boggles my mind that there is only one mod making ammo rarer, and about a dozen giving you more/unlimited/ability to make your own!
Is there any way I can test it to be sure it's running?
PaladinHoss: would you consider making a mod also reducing the number of firearms available to find? As I tend to think these should be much scarcer than they are in the game. There is a mod which sort of does this already: Savage Wasteland. But perhaps you could look into make a more encompassing version that also reduces some of the guns lying around to be found, not just the ones spawned on enemies.
