It's a very nice look - but growing trees or any greenery would presumably be totally anathema to the Church of the Children of Atom, who helped build the town and feel that obliteration through their god Atom's gift of atomic explosion is the ideal, and failing that through slower irradiation do they see His work.
Every atom must be split asunder to reach His Glory. They are essentially the ultimate goth death cult and not into replanting greenery. True, not everyone in Megaton is even a member let alone a True Believer, but you can be sure those that are would effectively kill off any attempt at a tree with a heavenly dose of Atom's gift, because that is His Gift, that is the Natural Order, and you must not dirty His Church, His Crater, with your green abominations!
I'm not sure if using the "Green World" mod along side this is messing things up but there are tons of trees around town that are just poking up from underneath buildings... like a bunch of leaves in front of the sheriff's house and craterside supply, for example. It's a bummer because I really enjoyed this at first glance (trees and birds = <3) but I don't think I can use this if the trees are just poking through the floors and walls everywhere... ;-;
I downloaded this mod and installed it. Didn't get to Megaton until it was dark. The trees looked nice, I thought. Oh look...a bird just flew by. Hey, there's even a nice breeze and the sound of running water. Went into my new "Megaton Return" home (nice mod btw) and went to sleep. In the morning I go out the front door and literally scream! The trees are all bending back and forth in unison, like there's a cat. 4 hurricane happening. Trees that look like they're going to reach out and grab you! The horror! Then I saw a low flying bird fly right into my house. Then another...and another! I tried to scare them away, but they just kept flying into the buildings! The horror of it all! I quickly ran for the front gate of Megaton and did'nt stop running until I was a few meters away. I turned and looked back... I could see tall trees trashing about inside the walls of my Megaton, as if King Kong were inside, swinging from tree to tree...probably eating all the inhabitants as well, I thought to myself. The horror! The worst part happened next, when I got a CTD. Probably from the violent thrashing of the trees back and forth. Oh, the horror! The fixes needed here should be obvious. Nice attempt though, even if it made me poop my drawers. The horror!
I just installed this mod and it looks great. I especially love the birds. However, the trees are swaying back and forth so quickly that it appears to be very, very windy. Is the a way to control the swaying?
