PvtPirate, Thanks. The reason I reduced the time as far as it will go is because the message "Item added message", e.g. "Rock-it Launcher added", also takes time. So if I make 100 custom weapons for instance, that means 16.67 minutes of message spam from the "success messages" alone. I'm guessing about 20 minutes for all messages to be done displaying. Ridiculous! For that amount of volume it still takes several minutes (about 5) for all the messages to get finished even with this mod. And yet, they're all in your inventory as soon as you're done making them.
I think most of the message spam you're refering to is already set at 2 seconds, and there may not be any way to change that one way or the other. I'm not sure but I think it might be hardcoded. I did this because I just don't like to be out ghosting Enclave, Raiders, and whatnot while all that spam is still on display. And it doesn't even do any good to take a nap, it's like the radio. Sleep 8 hours and the same song is playing.
wow, i was always annoyed by these. not only the built weapon messages, but also a lot of the other ones. maybe if they were shown for 2 seconds instead of 10 would already be a great thing - one second can sometimes be too short to recognize what it said, before it vanishes. but some messages take way too long - like item added/removed from inventory. so if you can make a version that makes them all last only 2 seconds - that would be perfect downloading and absolutely giving endorsement
