STEAM USERS WANTING TO USE CONTOLLER TO SPRINT PLEASE READ
If you found yourself here trying to make sense of how to key bind your controller to the sprint mod and not understanding any of this you arnt alone! but don't worry I've been through the coals so you don't have to!
Basically Steam has its own inbuilt support for controller key binding! so 1. Plug in your controller, 2. right click the game, 3. go to properties, 4. go to controller, 5. go to controller configurator, 6. click edit layout, 7. click joysticks, 8. go to left joystick and click the settings icon, 9. click 'add extra command', 10. key bind the new command to whichever key you like, 11. open the game and go to the 'vault tec pedometer' and change the key bind to whichever key you selected previously, 12. profit!
I wish Id had this explained to me before I went and bought xpadder it seems dodgy and even if it isn't I shouldn't have spent the money since steam does it for you!
IF YOUR MOD RANDOMLY STOPS WORKING. It is most likely to you going to your weright limit and/or wearing heavier armor. I had to reset my key binding, change armor and drop weight and it started working again as intended. Just going to rely much more heavily on your weight and agility
this mod stopped working on only one of my saves (still works when i start a new game) i bassicaly added the simple sprint mod and that broke it but even after uninstalling the simple sprint mod this one still wont work but only on the save that i was playing so the mod works fine just not on my main save does anyone know how to fix this please?
The way i did it with my xbox controller is i used the command in console: set SprintForceNoFOSE to 1 . This allows you to hot key the sprint command, I hotkeyed it to down-right. Really only up/down/left/right are any good for hot keys on a controller anyway. Then, i used ReWASD to have the "grab" button as a down-right direction on the d-pad, turning the grab into a sprint key. I highly recommend ReWASD, if you're going to be a filthy casual with a controller in the PC masterrace gaming space, you need a powerful tool like ReWASD. Xpadder just doesn't cut it.
this works for me, you my savior man but I have a question, what does it mean the command in console: set SprintForceNoFOSE, do I need to keep the number "1" after the process or do I need to change again?

I have FOSE installed but I can't use the Shift Key and the Note says I am in NoFose mode.
okay, found it, VAULT-TEC pedometer -.-
set SprintSpeedMult to X, where X is the desired number
to change endurance costs:
set SprintAPMult to X, where X is the desired number
