Late to the party but here's my two cents worth. Great mod in showing a rarely modded town getting some love. That being said, I have a huge warning for those interested in using this: DO NOT enable this mod until AFTER Those! quest. I mistakenly had it enabled and couldn't even play that quest. House covered up, Lesko refusing to acknowledge I completed the quest, etc. Great mod but AFTER I completed that quest.
Ok here's a comment 5 years after the previous one
Too bad this was not finished because although the interiors are really not much, the outdoors defense barricades and posts around Grayditch (about 12 guards in total I think) plus a few civilians are done well and make Grayditch streets come back to life from being nothing more than a ghost town with completely empty streets other than an occasional encounter with a fellow wastelander ("NPCs travel" mod) or a Talon squad spawning by the metro entrance, and two AWOP locations (the car dealership and the library). So - endorsed.
It's quite odd that there are no massive overhauls of Grayditch, compared to the number of various upgrades for Canterbury Commons. That diner is still sadly empty.
I think its probably because of the issue of the ants and the associated quest, and because of the lore (i.e. the kid tells you the place is now deserted). And even Canterbury, which has had many overhauls thrown at it, most of them either have minor issues, or are left incomplete, or silly, or combination thereof (or broke lore or even broke the game). I should know, I've recently cycled through ALL of them, including the latest "new interiors" one which, in addition to some oddities, puts a raiders' horror nest upstairs in the barber shop!
But yes, ideally some vendor & tinker pairing could take over say the diner and one of the nearby houses after one completes the THOSE! quest - something low-key, like a minor collective refuge-and-repairs hub for the region's scavengers. Anything more would be too much and attract too much attention because, like the kid tells you, its too close to DC and pretty much surrounded by enemies on all sides.
Edited Nov 2022: Just to note one mod which stayed in my loadorder for GreyDitch is Greyditch Player Home III. And Wasteland Guards is a non-intrusive mod that gives Canterbury and other locations (eg, Bigtown, Megaton, Andale, Girdershade) some extra defence if you pay for each of them at a terminal in Canterbury (in the form of NPCs, most of whom are armed guards, some of whom are also traders). But sadly, Grayditch isn't one of the locations you can buy guards for.
Good looking mod. I started a new game, Bryan Wilks comes running up after I cleaned Super Mart; Gives me quest 'Those'.
Went to Grayditch, lots of people around.Issues:There's a restaurant where the Wilk's house is supposed to be. The Brandice's house is replaced with an 'impassable' door (future shop).
Did you move these locations? As of this post, I can't complete the quest 'Those'.
I agree with @askfor's idea about re-populating Grayditch after the 'Those' quest. Makes more 'lore' friendly.
I'll d/l the latest & see what's 'changed' from .01.
I just dowloaded .04. I am going to give it a try. I like the idea you have for an unmarked quest. I did try .03 I like it so far. I also use my utility world, and FO3 world of pain and they seem to be working fine with this mod. I think this weekend just for fun i will try it with zombie apocalypse to give all the guards a real fight.
I have given your mod an endorcement, Keep up the good work.
Im planning to add a unmarked quest were you follow clues to find the group of lowlifes to find whos supplying the town with drugs. And you can either keep them alive and use it to feed your addictions. Or you can kill em all and use the base for your own personal drug lab, or just to clean the streets and help the war on Drugs!! (--- Whats your opinion on this. I really wish I was getting more feedback.
Thx pracitcully all of those things you said will be done atm im working on adding three new shops to the market then I will add dialouge to every named character (probly not voiced) Congratualations your name is going to be on of the shop keepers, your gonna own the pawn shop (Were you can sell all your goods) Also after iv done all this I'l educatate myself a bit more withs quests and il see if you go about joining them. If you have the patience which I hope you do. Im starting the shops today, shouldent take as long. Try 0.3 if you want to see the guards of the town at the current state. Also all suggestions I will take in.
I tried update 2. Most wasteland towns need squatters. You could have them living in the abandoned destroyed buildings around town and in the destroyed building before you enter the town. Some more dialog with the townsfolk would be nice. Maybe some simple unmarked quest would also be good. It would also be grate if we could interact with the recruter maybe join the resistance and complete a couple of unmarked quests there as well. The gaurds could patrol the town would be more realistic to. I would also think it would be cool to have doctor lascko living in your player home running the clinic. Then you could collect some caps from him like maybe every month as a source of income. Anyway I think it is a great start.
PS I played this after I completed those quest and it worked just fine.
I did a lot this morning but, I fucked up the dialouge theres no greeting... I added a lot il look at it again soon and fix it if anyone is actually interested in thism mod. (I addded repairman/weopan dealer whole new shop and a proper defense of the town)
