Hmm... actually, now I'm thinking I could totally go the taking-the-piss route with that one. Dunno if I can model a believable distortion through the air, but I was thinking for example of a weapon that looks like a boombox that goes "FUS RO DAH!"
How about something that uses Plungers as ammo? Seems very appropriate to the function, and there are SO DANG MANY of the things in the DC Wastes that it'd be nice to put them to good use.

A dang good weapon, which has displayed impressive knockback (and entertainment value).
Two events of special note -
One: Going through 'The Traveller Project' mod. Part of this involves an area with narrow walkways surrounded by water and patrolled by Sentrybots. I shoot one Sentrybot with this weapon, which knocks it completely off the walkway and into the water, where it promptly sinks out of sight. My radar shows a hostile still there, so I head over and look. Yep, he's down there on the bottom, still functioning but unable to shoot through that much water. Apparently, Sentrybots cannot swim.
Two: The showdown with Colonel Autumn in the Jefferson Rotunda. Unsurprisngly, violence ensues. My VATS headshot (with a side order of 'Bloody Mess' ) removes his head, which lands in the water behind the rest of him. Quickly followed by the rest of him, which dramatically backflips over the railing and ALSO ends up in the water. Ghod knows what James would say about THAT clogging his Purifier..
Great weapon, like it a lot. Also like the 'Baby Joshua', which was a great early weapon for my character and is still a popular weapon for Companions.
Crap, I was really hoping that first cap was from FO3. I absolutely HATE the animations in this game. It's like Bethesda just copped out and ported everything from Half Life. Does anybody know of a mod that fixes the stupid "tea cup" stance? It makes you look like an idiot, is horribly inaccurate because the support hand does nothing to counter recoil, oh, and it's also a great way to get a face full of .44 magnum due to the above, BTW, this gun looks freaking sweet.

I like the way you think.
Or maybe some kind of craftable weapon. Or both. Can think of lots of times / places in the game where something like this would be fun and/or useful.

Edit: but, heh, yeah, that's one reason I kept the screenshots from New Vegas. The other reason, of course, being that I'm terminally lazy :p
