So I used a blood pack and have the Euphoria effect, making the screen contrast slightly wonky. Problem is it doesn't go away. It stays no matter how long i sleep, getting a doc to cure addiction, using the chem lab to detox myself. Its getting really annoying and i've played too far to reload back to an earlier save.
You are wonderful, this is a crazy reply as any testing I have done has not removed this effect, even removing the euphoria effect and waiting multiple days. For some reason the effect is tied to the Hematophage perk, weird.
Hello, Probably going to remove this mod. Im getting addicted to everything. Just got addicted to Radaway and Nukacola. Just disabled all the BLTC mods and now it broke the game becuase the collection rebirth patch needs BLTC.esp and is a dependancy.
I don't like the confusing and looting 1 million diferent drugs :). Installed this mod with the collection FR+, uninstalled with vortex BLTC v030b, v032 and hotfix but the drugs still appear in the game. Someone cant tell me how do I remove the drugs?
Early 2023 review: This old project is something that could potentially work as an idea but final implementation in the game is bearable at best. Yes, I must say that I also liked "Euphoria" effect like other users in comment section (basically this effect of blood pack, sativex and etc. makes colours more deep and flashy to say the least), but other effects is pretty annoying. Even using "less addiction".esp will give you addiction to RadAway every 2nd or 3rd usage of this one of the most necessary and essential item of vanilla game. Also, why do you get such rapid and strong addiction to base Nuka Cola and RadAway, but no addiction after another hundreds of Stimpacks and Rad-X? That's why final vision of mod look confused. It's not full blown survival or easy vanilla style and rules of using chems is pretty unexplained. So many "why?" But as a positive point, I like vast roaster of new chems and seeing every hallucination or screen distortion for the first time is cool. It's not very convenient or useful for very hardcore playthrough because you'll be constantly under some kind of addiction, screen distortion or withdrawal. In the end, interesting concept with good work on visual effects and new drugs/chems variations but without any substance or meaningful rules why this chems are addicted and others aren't. Still gave my endorsement. Should you try this mod in 2023? For first try - yes, why not, but if you plan to put in heavy-modded playthrough around 100-200 hours, this mod will turn from entertaining to annoying in the blink of an eye (literally). As the quote goes: Cool feature for the sake of cool feature, nothing more.
Cool mod, but Less Addictions esp doesnt work (loaded last) - the addictions are still there, but they're also uncurable by doctors and go into "withdrawal" immediately as you get them and stay that way even if you get a fix. Unfortunately unplayable.
Honestly, the best chems mod I've seen. I actually now can't play Fo3 without euphoria effect (don't want to install some ENB, because I'm lazy), so I just chug down Sativex and Blood Packs. This makes the world seem better and more alive. Some visuals and hallucinogenic at times is also fun. So yeah, I kinda turned into a junkie. The best part is I actually almost never used any chems in 3d Fallout games before this mod, but added visuals change their use drastically for me.
For anyone who is curious/confused about installing "Light Up And Smoke Those Cigarettes" and "Better Living Through Chems" together, here's what works for me so far: 1.Download "Light Up And Smoke Those Cigarettes" Version 2c Note: With the method I'm going to write, you don't need the Optional "BLTC Patch for Version 2c" in order to make my method work with "Better Living Through Chems". As for the Optional "FWE Patch for Version 2c", I don't know if you'll still need it since I don't use FWE. 2.Download the "Light Up and Smoke Those Cigarettes UPDATE" Version 3.0 from JoseSnake. Note: I have NOT tried the Optional "LUSTC Rework" plugin since I have no idea what it ACTUALLY does. 3.Go to "Better Living Through Chems" and download all three files. 4.Unpack the Version 2c-18947-2c.7z and add everything (meshes, sound and textures folders) to your Data folder EXCEPT the "LightUpAndSmokeThoseCigarettes_edisleado_fo3_scratch.esp" it's not needed 5.Unpack the Light Up and Smoke Those Cigarettes-22247-3-0.zip, add everything from it to your Data folder and overwrite anything that comes up 6.Unpack the BLTC_v030b-1745.rar and add ONLY the meshes and textures folders to your Data folder 7.Unpack the BLTC_v032-1745.rar and add the BLTC.esp to your Data folder along with any of the other plugins that you like. 8.I used FOMM to arrange my plugins and my load order is BLTS.esp, any optional BLTC plugins (BLTC No Overdosing.esp, etc) and finally LightUpAndSmokeThoseCigarettes.esp
This did help me but the cigarettes are still showing up in my inventory as CHEM. I followed your instructions to the the letter and even reset archive invalidation but I'm still getting them as CHEM, any tips?
EDIT: I uninstalled and re-installed the mods in order and found along the way I still had a version of Light Up installed on NMM. I disabled and uninstalled these and per your instructions both mods work together now. I get the better chems and non of the invasive cigarette smoking. Who doesn't like lighting up a lucky cig and smoking it during battle? Makes one look like a bad ass.
Due to the fact that they are internally labeled that way, this is not a sorting error or mod error. BLTC and the LightUp mod will still each add their own cigarettes.
Edit: But it is easily possible to get rid of the CHEM prefix via FO3Edit, though I would recommend a name that distinguishes between the different cig types added by both mods. This doesn't change anything else about the Item, only changes the name displayed in every in-game instance, shop/loot windows, pointing at it with crosshair and in your pip-boy. Anyway, to change the item name, open the LightUpAndSmoke plugin in FO3Edit, and click on the plus next to it. Open the 'Ingestibles' section. Inside that, you will find the Cig. Carton, Cig. Pack, and the Cigs. Go into each of those entries, and observe the righthand window; find the line that sais 'FULL NAME', doubleclick, ignore the warning, and remove the CHEM prefix, or change it to whatever pleases you.
I did that to a whole bunch of BLTC/RI/MMM items to sort my AID inventory better, most MMM meat and such is FOOD; most BLTCs are either DRUGs or MEDs, but most importantly, I now have Filter Cigs & Lucky Cigs from LightUp&Smoke, and I have Handrolled Cigs & Joints from BLTC, and all of those have a big, fat 'SMOKE' prefix. And they live in their appropriate 'Cigarette Carton'/'Cigarette Pack', 'Tobacco Carton'/'Tobacco Pack' and 'Bag of Weed' respectively, when found out in the wild^^
