This mod is amazing. I would pay good money for someone to patch it to work on tale of two wastelands. Seriously. I will straight pay pal your ass if you make this work. Please someone.... Im way too stupid to do it myself or I would have already.
Endorse endorse endorse endorse endorse Really like this mod. Suits the way I play the game juuuust fine. I agree very much with you on how the bobbleheads are too scattered. Putting one in the Dunwich building seemed absurd to me, I mean, really. Although, if it were up to me, with your mod the bobbleheads would be scattered a tad bit more, like, instead of half on Blood Ties, distribute some into Wasteland Survival Guide's locations and other relatively early quest locations, but that's an opinion really. Works fine as is and does what you said you wanted it to.
I have run into a snag though. It's pretty benign, doesn't hurt much, and is kind of my fault anyway, but I had collected and placed a bobblehead on the stand before remembering to activate this mod, and now I can't place any on the stand at all. Says I don't have them in my inventory. At least I think that's the cause... I still get the point bonuses, it's just frustrating to have all these things in my misc. menu. Anybody know a way to fix this?
Fresh game after installing this mod and I'm having the same problem with the bobbleheads not displaying. I click the stand and I get the sound that means the they're being removed from my inventory but nothing appears on the stand. I only have the weathered retexture mod on the stand and have tried it both with/without the mod and still encounter this bug.
I'm running the quest version, I'll try again with the other and see if there's a difference.
Edit: No change, the bug persists.
Edit2: Okay, I followed a hunch and did some testing. I used the non-quest version, found a bobblehead, and it mounted without issue. My guess is that the quest version bobbleheads can't be displayed until the quest is marked complete.
Edit3: I've found all the bobble heads but still can't get them to display. I believe it's a bug in the quest version that have marked them as a quest item and can't be removed. And, seeing as the quest doesn't clear itself you can see where this might be an issue.
I really like this mod, but can only recommend the non-quest version to anyone reading this until this bug, if ever, gets fixed.
Really appreciate the troubleshooting effort crazytank85. I have fixed the esp for the quest version and have uploaded it, version 1.1. The fix is automatic, so you can just start your current game, then go place your bobbleheads. The non-quest version was not affected. Apologize of any reduction in game play.
Ok so far the mod gets a B+, it's a real nice idea.
But what I really really miss is a far better integration to fallout it self. Currently I have to use some obscure map which I'm not to sure where to find to find the bobbleheads. Why not be given the chance to buy/trade/steal/quest for a map downloaded to your pipboy? Perhaps make it a subquest for Moira or similar person in Megaton//Tenpenny tower?
Right now it fails majorly due to map references to an external source, and a need to tabout and see where do I need to go from here?
I have created a Quest version of Bobblehead Run. This mod provides the location with direction for each Bobblehead using the Pipboy world map. I felt this was better than a map that shows up in the Notes of the Pipboy.
I do not have a problem with someone integrating a mod of mine with another one, but I would appreciate some credit for my portion if it gets uploaded, of course I did not do a whole lot for this mod. I checked the operation of this mod with an old save game of mine. For each bobblehead that I had already found I received the increase to special or skill, so in effect I doubled the increase, maybe no issue for some players and maybe even desireable. When I placed the bobblehead on the stand it simply placed it as normal. Did not look like two bobbleheads occupying the same spot, still looked like only one, so the game did not crash. I do not actually move the in game bobbleheads, I disable the in game bobblehead and just add another instance at the location provided. I have done a few mods and just do this because I have deleted in game items before and regretted it, so these days I generally disable the in game version. So if you are recommending merging this mod with the Collector Book mod it probably would not work as planned, as I am disabling some in game bobbleheads. As far as compatibility, you could load this mod first then the Collector mod, which I think would restore my disabled bobbleheads and work fine, as long as you do not mind getting double for the 15 bobbleheads I placed.
Hey Balarithon, happy customers come back! lol After your "Bombay Trading" I've decided to check out your other mods as well. Since this is my first playthrough, I really find that this mod is befitting! However, I had already installed another mod, idk if you've already checked it out, it's called "Bobbleheads - Collectors Book " and it puts a book in the game (sold from Moira) which provides the original locations of all bobbleheads so that noobs like me know where to start looking. Since both your mods help new characters with bobbleheads I thought it would be a good idea to make them compatible (or even combine them!) so I've asked the author if he could provide a compatible version if you don't mind.. anyway, check it out and see for yourself: http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=14774
PS. I should have checked your other mods earlier btw! Your "house" mod seems as detailed as your "business" mod!
