    Shidentora,
well for the most part you are right. but if you use a mod such as "magic fingers" you can steel all the weapons off all the NPCs and stash them in the provided container for later retrieval. you have to have a very sneaky PC, and for the first part of blowing up the guns, you got to steel montgomery's ammo or he shoots up the place spoiling your sneak. you will have to stash everything you collected on the gun run, or you will lose it when you get warped into the generals tent, as that resets your inventory, but only on the gun run. it dose not reset when you are warped back to base the other 2 times. i have collected over 100 chinese assault rifles, thats a fair bit of caps. plus all the weapons and armor off the americans. the point? well i guess that depends on how you play.
    hope that answers you question.
    cheers pal

and one more thing, most of the DLC OA weapons dont break down.
err slight correction, OA weapons will degrade, mostly by being hit by enemy fire "which is hard coded in the game". most all of them are given extremely high health of 999999 or more. so it takes an extremely long time and a lot of use before they need repair.

Why no point going back? I'd go back to have some really challenging fight. At least, this overhaul I am using is such, that your character just becomes a "Rambo, Combat PhD" in the Anchorage, or it just dies.

    Papajack55,
you dont have to do the sim with this one ether. as long as you get the project purity quest out of the way. its just harder to do the gun assault with the door at the end rather than the beginning if you dont do the sim first. and maybe they will work together. guess it depends on how you want to do it, which mod you'll use. the only reason i made this mod was so i could get all the loot. as there is really no point in going back once you did the sim.

There's another mod that allows you to go to Anchorage via a rock by Independence Fort. You can go back even before you do the sim.
