I would have installed it... But it's weaker than the other mods I have downloaded. The only ones that give a challenge is Super Mutant Colossi and Super Mutant Titans. :/
Ha! That's funny. I can picture the route I almost always head out from around minefield/scrapyard area and end up coming into the Regulator HQ from due west every time. And then later when I'm heading exploring north I either start at Canterbury commons or from that road a little west of it. I probably have walked in a perfect circle around him every time. Funny. Well I'm downloading it now and looking forward to taking on this bad boy.
I personally prefer the wacky wasteland approach, but if people wind up liking the Roach King boss, I could attempt to make a more lore appropriate version. Your suggestions for the items work (I could simply make it so his helmet is somehow the key to roach friendship), but I'm not sure how to make the summoned roaches fit. Not only do they get pretty big, but they all instantly die when the Roach King dies. That could be changed, but they also die after enough time has passed for the sake of game stability. I'm open to suggestions.
What a great idea! I'm glad someone finally decided to do something with this odd character.
I remember bumping into the Roach King in one of my first playthroughs and then being disappointed there wasn't a toy surprise of some kind. Even some kind of joke thing would have been okay. The weird thing is I've never seen him again and I've played through literally like 40 times.
I've never actually TRIED to find him though. So whatever routes I take through the wasteland must just skirt him or something. Maybe I'll give this mod a try tonight.
Suggestion: (Not a criticism just a matter of taste) If I was going to change anything about how it's described it would be how the effects you get as a reward are doled out (more realistic?). I'd implement the Roach Friendly ability like the Ghoul Mask is done (so note permanent but a Roachy type mask (or armor?) that would probably look a little like the Antagonizer stuff)
And I'd have the item that you can use to summon Roaches be like a Flask of Roach musk or maybe a Roach Clicky noise generator. An Aid item that you activate but it isn't consumed. Just my 2 cents.
The Roach King's appearance and equipment is normally randomized, sometimes resulting in a female Roach King (sometimes a bearded female Roach King). The Roach King will always look the same and have the same equipment with this mod installed, though the condition of his minigun and how much 5mm ammo you get when looting him will vary slightly.
I´ve met once but wasnt male was Roach Queen of the wastes....and she didnt appear not that much extraordinary....your mod might make a new looking to it.Does it change in my case if she´s not him.
