I downloaded this mod because it was necessary to install the companion mod. The installation was successful. I installed version 1.8. Everything works without problems. Approved, Added to the collection of mods, as the installation of another mod depends on this mod. Thank you for your hard work and time.
I wouldn't write this mod off so quickly as you did on the description page dearest Gopher ^^ The UIO just wouldn't work for me no matter what I tried so I came back to this gem. To anyone struggling... So long as you have no HUD mods active when you first activate UHUD, then you deactivate it and reactivate it EVERY time you install a HUD mod, it works perfectly and does everything you need.
Sure, it's not ideal having to deactivate/reactivate the mod over and over if you have loads of HUD mods like me, but it's just a few extra clicks in the mod manager and it's pretty much guaranteed to work.
I had to stop in just so that I could support your post.
I just recently did a fresh install of FO3 and decided to go with UIO instead. Suffice it to say, I had a full laundry list of problems. I spent a solid couple of hours trying to fix the problem and got to the point where I just started over again. Only this time, I stuck with Unified HUD. Just like I did for FNV and Skyrim. No issues whatsoever. None.
As a sign of respect I normally would never compare two mods in a comment section but since Gopher has stopped supporting Unified HUD and is recommending UIO, it seems only proper to share my experience and to offer support for yours.
People are free to use whatever mods they want and I'm not telling people to write off UIO. If they can get it to work for them. Great. Unified HUD works and always has for me.
Same here. UIO completely busted my install with whatever it was doing. This was after I spent around three hours wrestling with it to get aHUD working correctly.
I'm trying this one now. I'll report back in a couple of hours after I'm done with my mod list.
And here we are years later and I also had to add that this is still true. UIO is a solid mod. In New Vegas but for Fallout 3 it caused me nothing but heartache.
2023 - Fortunately, I can't even install UIO, so I came here and as I can see, I'm in luck. In FNV it works without problems, in FO3... you can see for yourself.
Now I can't even install uHUD on NMM, because every time I try it give me this message:
[A]Nexus.Client.Games.Fallout3.Fallout3GameMode cannot becast to [B]Nexus.Client.Games.Fallout3.Fallout3GameMode. Type A originates from “Fallout3, Version 0.87.0.0 Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null’ in the context ‘LoadFrom’ at ‘location ‘C:\Program Files\NMM\GameModes\Fallout3.dll’. Type B originates from ‘Fallout3, Version=0.87.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null’ in the context ‘Default’ at location ‘C:\Program Files\NMM\Fallout3.dll’
Maybe someone can answer this, if you have ihud and ahud, should this detect those mods when you start the installation? I could not get those two to work with uio and I have jipccc, with uio, I cant use ihud or ahud, when disabled uio they started working but jip went away. Jip still has the hotkeys and the companion wheel is still gone, but the hud elements will not show up. does anyone have tips or tricks to help with this? Thanks in advance.
when i instaleed uio i couldnt move my hud elements anymore with adjustble hud so i retured to this and as expecterd worked as always so screw uio for me
Is it true that UIO is not supported anymore?? Also, the uninstallation procedure is quite "heavy" and as far as I am concerned, UIO does not seem to recognize JP CC&C for FO3 for me... :-/ Either way, in my opinion, this mod here is way to good to be not supported anymore. Although it is quite complicated to install using Mod Organizer, as far as I heard... Especially if it is really true that UIO is not supported anymore, I hope that Gopher will make a comeback... I am with FaR2sToNeD's opinion (see comment 3 Apr 2015).
