    Does this mod affect FPS?

      It shouldn't. It's the same size as the vanilla LOD texture, just with the rocks recolored

    I just happened to stumble across this. Honestly, I can't see any diff in your before and after pics. Perhaps grabbing me by the chin, turning my head and pointing would help.

    Not sure how this would work the UHQ terrain mod.

    Nevermind, think I see it now...the mid range rocks in before are slightly an off green color and normal in the after pic. Think that's what I'm seeing. God, I just can't get that anal.

      Yeah, in the user-submitted pictures, NMC has a pic that clearly shows the difference, side by side. The distant rock textures are more gray in the before pic, and brown to match NMC's rocks in the after pic.

      And I totally understand, but I was/am anal af with modding Fallout >.>

    Truth be told, I was playing a bit earlier today after I left my endorsement and I noticed with the water towers it is actually more than the texture, the mesh itself is drastically different than the up close model.

    But, having just seen this work in game again a few moments ago, I must commend this work one more time, and I look forward to anything else you kick out in the future.

    Thanks for the endorsement, redeye. I'm currently working on fixing the Keybridge (the big bridge by the citadel) lod. The lod texture is yellow by default and doesn't match with NMC's tan retex of the bridge.

    Once that's all done, I'll release it and I guess I'll see about the water towers. I hadn't really noticed anything wrong with the distant water towers, but since you pointed it out, I will keep an eye on them

    Here's some kudos for your feedback

    Hi Cag93. Thank you for the kudos! Heres a Kudo for you too! Yes that shot was at 11 gridstoload. In the past when I had the time i mess around with this game to get the max eyecandy to see how far i can push it before stability becomes a issue. Since NMC's latest release and the Clear buffer cells and LAA enabler I could use the full texture pack with no problems. The game runs better than ever. Thing was the terrain in the package wasn't the full resolution like it was in ver. 1 package. (I like those high rez textures to mess with) I started adding ver.1 terrain roads and rocks, basically the whole terrain data folder and the huge 8092 resolution rocks and the game played like vanilla. No kidding...I was shocked. I tried to crash it and the game held steady even though the the landscape folder was 3.44 times the size of the full pack. (I need to recalculate that figure it's close though) but at any rate the textures are MUCH larger and the game ran beautifully for hours on end.
    So recently I figured since i maxed out the textures why not see if I can play with more grids loaded. to do that I just running the full pack with some additional folders from ver. 1: Characters, Creatures, Gore,Decals,weapons and also high definition stars and moon and BOS power armor retex. I'm experimenting with the .ini configuration and starting to test. I used to only be able to run at 5 grids. the game wouldn't even launch at 7. Nowdays I launch at 19 just to see what it looks like but it's overkill because you need a very powerful scope like on the gauss rifle to see thing's like cars in the distance. Even then it's hard to make out as a car because it's so small but I can still blow it up with the gauss rifle I'm just messin with 7 grids and the cell buffers in the .ini to see if I can do it. So far It's smooth and loads very fluently but I haven't gave it a full test yet.

    fTreeLoadDistance=400000
    fBlockLoadDistanceLow=500000
    If you haven't tried these I recommend setting the above figures if you want to mess around. They make a large visual impact with virtually no performance hit. They enable the trees,bridges and structures to be seen from miles away. It didn't increase crashing or lag for me. I have a before and after animated .gif and it's very profound difference. If you want to see it i can put it here (if the server allows animated .gifs), or I can send it to you.

    My specs:

    MSI 790FX-GD70
    Phenon BE 3.4GHz 145W Version
    8 Gigs ADATA 2000 RAM running @ 1333 (need to lower the latency, bought high speed ram to run tighter timings)
    Two 4890 XFX Black Edition
    RAID 0 150G X2 Velociraptors
    1920 X 1200 Resolution
    Win 7 64bit
