MOST VOTES OF ANY MOD for May! Hooray!

Mod Author Raptre gave me full permission to "Update it all you want" so I made the install super easy, and added broken steel quest progress fixes for V 1.2.

    UPDATE:
Many of the reported 3dog news report bugs were fixed by the updated unofficial fallout 3 patch. I am working on copying these over for those who don't run it.
PLEASE HELP IMPROVE 3 DOG NEWS REPORTS!

As you play through the game with this mod, please pay attention to the news reports to see if anything is reported that shouldn't be. I am totally dependent on these bug reports as testing all possibilities is impossible for me.

I already have a few reports to work on and need more!

    ISSUES IN PROGRESS 4/28/14
    * ad track 2 (metro protectron) and music track 85 (gone fishin') never plays, hope it wasn't intentional.
    * add in missing dialogue for brotherhood/outcasts (unofficial patch fix) RadioGNRNewSStoryGeneric05, and the unofficial patch stops it from talking about tower ghouls.
*3dog talking as if project impurity completed from start. (require separate patch file for broken steel, Unofficial patch also fixes it)
    * some nuka cola challenge quest fix

Great mod but is it possible to remove a song manually or will that cause issues? Coming from New Vegas I feel like Jingle, Jangle, Jingle just doesn't work for me.

You'd have to check the song files outside of the game, with what program would run it to know which one it is I guess. I'd probably do the same honestly.

Weird that there's no link for the new TTW version. Here: GNR Enhanced Fixed ESP for TTW

    Badass mod. Obviously endorsed.

I installed using Fallout Mod Manager, and while my game loads without issue, I'm not hearing any new music. Is there any way to verify that the mod is working? Anything I need to do other than adding it to FOMM and checking/enabling it? I have the GOTY edition through Steam and GNR Enhanced is sixth in the load order after Fallout 3 and the DLC.

Each track in this mod has three files, an .mp3, a _mono.mp3, and a _mono.wav, but if you look at the mod's .esp in FO3Edit only the .mp3 file is being referenced.

What is going on with these other two files, are they even necessary? The mod is over a gig and there are 330 tracks in the sound\Songs\Radio\GNR directory but it appears that only a third of these files are actually needed.

Anyone know what the purpose of this is?

the mono files are used by world radios to play songs. Without them, you either won't hear anything or will hear only the vanilla songs on in world (placed) radios

By far, this is one of the best mods I have ever used in any Fallout game I've played. I say this because FO3 really needed this mod for the sheer fact that GNR had A very short loop of music and I thought this when I originally played it on my Xbox 360 back in the day. This mods adds so much great music to this game it's incredible what experiences and new memories you'll have.

Also, it adds other songs from established singers and bands from the original soundtrack. It also add desperately needed new artists that fits the Fallout motif to A tee. It is however A bit of A pain to install, I had to use FOMM and the Packages functions for it in order for it to work which thankfully it did work.

To me, this mod adds more yet perfectly fits in with the vanilla aesthetic that to Me makes FO3 the game it should have been in the first place (no disrespect intended to those at Bethesda at the time of the making of this game). It's just A fantastic mod that I am having A lot of fun with and I am glad it's still functional.

Thank you for this fantastic mod!

Tried installing this on my Steam Deck however I now just get silence whenever the songs go to play and the games frame rate gets cut in half. Has anyone else had this? Does this mod work on Steam Deck or am I just unlucky?

I was having the same issue. I fixed it by changing the compatibility proton layer to 8.0-5

For anyone having issues where the last few seconds of the songs loop, this is because the Mp3's were converted at a higher bit rate than what is recommended. Converting them down to 128 kps fixed it for me.

I have that looping problem at the end of all added songs (last 5 seconds of these songs repeat once before moving on). I tried converting the .mp3 from the 192kbps to 128 and even 96 kbps and all I get is no sounds at all. Tried a few different converters and made sure all metadata and other settings were the same and it's the same result for me. As soon as I replace it with the originals from the mods it goes back to normal (well 5s loop problem but better than no music at all).

You are most likely getting a setting wrong, try the converter included at the posted mod below, it worked perfectly for me and it's pre-configured out of the box for fallout3/NV engine. All you need to do is convert the main mp3s, you can leave the mono files and everything else alone.

Currently running the conversion. I'll let you know how it works. It sure takes longer. The other programs took only a few seconds, this will be a few minutes at least. Hopefully that means something.

edit: Yup that worked. For anyone else with the problem of looping ends of songs use the tool linked by kittayman to convert the songs into whatever weird format the game seems to require. No more looping!

Is there a consensus on if the Beta Update (1.3b) should be used over version 1.2?
