The reason why he doesnt attack enemies behind him is because you've got to change the "Max targeting FOV" in his combat style. Actually is 140, which only allows him to attack enemies in front of him and inside this range. You have to create a new combat style for him (to not affect Liberty Prime's combat style) and set the Max targeting FOV to 0. Then he will turn in any direction he is attacked. It is not an animation problem. I know the author of this mod is not active, but this advice could help anyone who download this mod or wants to do another similar mod.
You can't change it by console commands; you need the GECK. But is very easy to do it.
Download GECK here in case you dont have it: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/759
Here are the steps to fix this:
1- Open the mod with the GECK 2- In the Object window go to Miscellaneous/Combat style and find Liberty Prime's combat style. 3- Hit right click over Liberty Prime's combat style and duplicate it (this is done to create a new combat style and to not to affect the Liberty Prime's combat style). 4- Open the duplicated combat style and in ID rename it as you wish. 5- Inside this new combat style go to "Max targeting FOV" and set it from 140 to 0. Hit OK to save changes. 6-Now, in the Object window go to Creatures/robots and find the Liberty Prime companion created by the author and open it. 7-Inside this Liberty Prime companion window, go to the tab "Traits", find combat style and change the current combat style to the one you created. 8-Now, inside this companion window go to the tab "Stats" find "turning speed" and set it from 0 to 50 or 75. 9- Hit Ok and save the mod.
This should fix the problem and now Libert Prime companion will attack in any direction threats come from. I hope this helps.
