Update: I think I found the source of the problem.
The Clean Blue Texture Mod's sentrybot folder lacks a .dds
As such, the sentrybot texture is defaulting to the vault 101 texture standard to RobCo v2, rather than the full-body clean blue version.
Would it be possible to get an update to include the .dds for the sentrybot? He looks painfully out-of-place next to the rest of my bots, as the default vault 101 texture only adds a splash of paint on the chest with the 101 logo, and splashes of paint on the inner arms. Other than those very small paint splashes, the sentry bot looks almost exactly like a normal sentry bot, making it difficult to differentiate between my allied sentrybots and enemy sentrybots when in combat.
Hey, I just downloaded this mod and I found the .dds in the sentrybot folder along with the two .nif files. You might want to check for anything in your load order that could be affecting it or perhaps try reinstalling the textures manually. EDIT: Forget that, I thought it was working but it was just using the texture of the vault suit i was wearing at the time. It kept changing to the nearest texture after I removed the suit.
Actually you do not need anything but another texture replacer. I use both the RobCo main file and the RobCo textures - but I found them somewhat incomplete and lacking in detail. It originally installs the texture for your robot companions in the Data/Meshes/Creatures/Sentrybot/MrGutsy/Robobrain/Protectron/Miscellaneous Robot folder.
In the mesh folder there are textures for the RobCo robots, these can manually changed to any other texture replacer, including this one by renaming the robot texture (sentrybot, protectron, mr. gutsy, etc) RobCoTex.dds - this must be placed in the meshes/creature/robot mesh folders and MUST be renamed to RobCoTex.dds. The files will obviously have varying sizes depending on the texture pack used and I would recommend that before doing these manual steps that you backup and copy the specific mesh/creature/robot folder in case of accident.
You can alternately rename the specific DDS file by adding in the _n.dds file extension and adding in both texture files simply renaming the other one to RobCoTex.n_dds. Be forewarned though this might screw up the textures, it simply renames both the _n.dds and the dds texture files to the mesh/creature/robot folder. On Mr. Gutsy it doesn't work as well. I use the Improved Robot textures from Fallout NV - this clean blue version and another alternate texture pack, so you can actually have many varieties of textures for your robco robots without using the original robco texture file. Just remember to look in the meshes/creature folder because it does not install the RobCo textures in the actual texture folder.
For some reason, the Sentry Bot Vault 101 texture is identical to that of pintocat's Vault 101 re-texture, rather than the full paintjob shown in the screenshots.
I do not have pintocat's mod at all, as I prefer these textures. Can anyone give me some insight as to why this is happening?
I wish more people, when making "better" textures. Would do what has been done here. Namely keep the feel the same and change it just the amount that it needs to achieve the effect desired.
These textures are clean, without making the robots look any less worn. I love it. It has the perfect blend of grunge and shine!
May I request that you change the 101 logo on most robots to the vault tec logo? I want to use this in Nv, but the awkwardness of the 101 being there just doesn't work for me.
love it makes it easy to see what units are mine....possible suggestion is if there could be a way to select multiple textures for individual paint scheme
