Man I have been waiting for this mod since I started playing FO3. My game is borked at the moment and I haven't been able to try this but I am hoping what it does is add VERY sparce amounts of loot, like 1-3 bullets with 1 being like 75% chance 2 being 20% chance and 3 being 5% chance. And all equipment found is less than 10% quality. Throw in some basic needs mod and a tent or base building mod (like a 4x4 tin wall room) and campfire for cooking and I would finally have the harsh post apocalyptic hobo mod which I thin k should at least be an option in the base game.
this is my favorite Fallout 3 mod at the moment. works like a charm, and brings a boost to immersion as well as enabling new ways to play the game. i'm currently combining it with "RobCo Certified" and "Vehicles of the Capital Wasteland (reborn)" for a science/repair -playthrough without any weapon skills. i also use "Scrap Metal Crafting" ( requires "CRAFT" ) so i can turn those tin cans i get from vehicles into scrap metal which is my main source of experience gain. i'm sure there are more mods that synergize with Scavenger World just as good. everyone should try it. BECOME A SCAVENGER!
I love this mod. Really improves the realism. I can't believe it doesn't have more endorsements. Then of course I just realized I had never got around to endorsing. ENDORSED! Heh.
Coupled with something that reduces all the loot it really improves realism.
I play with FWE. So I turn all the loot settings as harsh as possible (so you find way less ammo, chem, etc... in containers) and turn on the Unfound Loot option too (which deletes the loose loot lying around a cell when you enter it based on your luck).
I got ambitious awhile back and removed the shovel and wrench from the stores and modified it so the Alt Start FWE history of Scavenger got them as starting equipment (instead of it's normal bonus). So only the Scavenger knew how to find those little bits of treasure in the trash.
Then I got REAL ambitious and decided to modify the Scrounger perk so instead of it's normal bonus you got the Shovel and Wrench. Had trouble with that one though and eventually gave up. Then of course everything went kablooey on me at some point and I lost my personal merge mods and I didn't have the energy to recreate my FWE Scavenger World merge mod. Sigh. No biggie though as it was just for fun. Mod still worked just fine as is.
