Another update. I've uploaded the mesh from the original Scavanger Armors mod exactly as it was. If this doesn't fix the issue, it may be a problem with the original mesh itself - though obviously it did work fine for me years ago when I first tested the armor and took those screenshots.
I'm unable to do an in-game test right now, but it's strange how I encountered no issues back then and was able to play the game normally with the helmet replacer.
Sorry about the late reply. I'm not actively modding FO3 anymore. Delete all the files that came with this mod from your Meshes/Textures folders to uninstall it, naturally, if it's giving you problems. I've yet to figure out any supposed CTDs this mod causes, since I can't replicate any.
No crashing for me, though I have some idea of what may be causing the problem and am working on a possible fix. Also, I'm working on a new helmet design that sticks to tumbajamba's original Enclave Scout Helmet's. Finally, I'm editing the armor mesh so that clipping should be greatly reduced, if not eliminated completely.
I'm testing it and trying to figure out why it's happening, or if it's even related to the mod. Open the console and enter: "player.additem 3411e 1 1" (without the quotes) and then "player.additem 34120 1 1". Now open your PipBoy and put on the Mechanist's outfit. Any crashing?
