The model its self replaces the Assault Rifle model just fine, but the texture seems to have some trouble. There also seems to be a glitch with the Pip boy light where the textures change to either flat white or black and sometimes aggressively flickers.
What you are (probably) experiencing with the textures is known as an archive invalidation issue. It is a bug in the game engine that prevents non-vanilla textures from showing properly in-game. If you are using a mod manager (and you really should be), you can fix that issue with the Archive Invalidation option, listed under the Tools tab in both FOMM and NMM. Just click on the tab, find Archive Invalidation in the drop-down menu, and click on it. OR, you could use Archiveinvalidation Invalidated (use that as your search terms). If you go with this option, download it manually. It is not a standard mod that can be installed with a mod manager. I suggest using the Program Version.
If you are getting the red diamond and exclamation mark, it is because the game cannot find the mesh for the rifle. The folder paths for this should be Fallout 3>ata>Meshes>Weapons>Xzax>2handautomatic>M16A1AssaultRifle.nif/M16A1NewAssaultRifle.nif, or Fallout 3>ata>Meshes>Xzax>2handautomatic>M16A1AssaultRifle.nif/M16A1NewAssaultRifle.nif. If you cannot find either of those file paths, then the mod was installed incorrectly.

Are you using any form of archive invalidation? If not, then try this.
Can anyone help me?
