We all have to start somewhere and it's usually low down on the foodchain.
This being his first mod, he probably did not think it would edit all the existing one's, so its very likely that all the alien's will blow you to hell before you know it.
But editing weapons in GECK is a good way to start modding, that's how everyone starts.
Your first mod, huh? Changing weapons in the GECK is always a good thing to start with and then move onto harder things. But I think uploading this mod wasn't a very good idea. See, some people who come to this site are very ignorant and they don't care if it's your first mod and they'll start writing nasty stuff in the comments. That's what happened to me, with my first mod.
I know you didn't ask for it, but here's some advice on uploading your first mods: First off, after you have uploaded the file, you've got to have images. A LOT of people on the Nexus will never download a file if it doesn't have images. Secondly, make sure the decription makes the mod sound way more exciting, useful and fun than it really is, that way you will get more attention and definitely more views though not neccesarily more downloads. Lastly, always try something new, if there is a different mod that does the same thing as yours but is more popular, people will choose that other mod over yours because it's more popular, even if yours is better.
About your mod, I must say that modifying weapons is a good way to start working in the GECK but uploading those files isn't very useful because only a few people will download it. When you come up with something new or unique then you should definitely upload it, share it with others and see what they think.
does this replace the original alien blaster? u should make the mod so it wont replace the original.. if some npc has it in the game ur doomed to die xD lol
