I have found that if you are having problems with her initial dialogue and hiring, where she says "hey" or whatever, and all YOU can say back is " I have to go now " ; I used FO3Edit and loaded the Crystal.esp. I expanded the esp and went to "QUEST" and within that "CrystalFollow". It should be the only FormID there. Click the "view" tab at the bottom of the right panel, . You will see the header and under, " DATA - General " and below that "Priority". Directly beside Priority is " 0 ". SLOWLY, double click on the " 0 " , and change it to "50 " , Close FO3Edit, saving when prompted. Fire up FO3 and see if her dialogue works for you now, it did for me.
I was enjoying the new companion but got constant crashes when saving in Big Town. I don't know if it's a mod conflict, the mod itself or something else. Looked through mod using FOSEEdit and couldn't spot anything that would cause it. Even sorted my Load Order using LOOT and still had crashes. So for now, Crystal will just have to be a memory for me
If you have any other mods that modify Big Town or the area close to it, it might be a mod conflict causing your crashes. It is also possible that the save file you are playing on, is corrupted somehow, and that could be responsible. Although, if the issue disappears after uninstalling Crystal, I would go with a mod conflict.
Note: I do not think I have played FO3 without Crystal in my load order, since just after it was released, and I do not remember every having a similar issue. Sorry I cannot help more.
It's okay. Thinking of just forgetting FO3 altogether. Crashing constantly, can't even teleport now. Looking through BOSS, LOOT and FO3Edit, I have a few conflicts but have no idea how to even fix it. Only added 2 new mods and thought it was those causing problems. Disabled them and it's still crashing and corrupting saves. on't know if it's my Load Order, a mod or just this damn computer
Sorry to hear of that string of issues. That has to be frustrating, but it does have me wondering: which version of the game do you have (Steam, Gog or retail) and what version of Windows are you running it on? I am not sure if it still applies to the Steam version after they "updated" it, but to get FO3 running half-decently on Win10 64 bit, you needed to make some adjustments to you configuration file. The same is true for the retail version (which I still use), but apparently not for the one from Gog. I can try and dig up the link for the changes, if you would like.
To answer your first question (to the best of my ability), anything you want Crystal to wear, you can put directly into her inventory, but the DR rating of said outfit needs to be higher that what she is currently wearing. If it is, then she should automatically put it on. Otherwise, you would need to make changes to the mod via the G.E.C.K. or FO3Edit.
For your second question, you would again need to make changes to Crystal, with the G.E.C.K. As I have never done anything like that myself, I am unable to help you make those changes. Also, the author have previously mentioned in this thread that he is no longer modding, so he will not be implementing those changes himself.
Amata is the Vault 101 Overseer's daughter. You meet her in the vault at the beginning of the game and she helps you escape. Using FO3Edit to check some records of another mod, I opened Crystal's records and under Non-Player Character Is: 00CRCompanion "Crystal" and a 2nd separate entry for "Amata" . I had considered that maybe you used Amata as a template to make Crystal and then forgot to delete the Amata record.
I didn't use her as a model and don't know why she is listed there. Strange. I did use F03Edit to check my mod before uploading it but I guess I never noticed that entry. Since I no longer mod and do not have the Creation Kit, it will stay. Also, it was nice of you to post your fix for the dialogue issue that pops up for some. Crystal was my first mod ever and it was something I was not familiar with at the time. Thanks.
The compound is perfect, has space for the companions and everything you need for a home/small settlement of your own, also they and the npc can navigate easily, like it was made by the very own creators of the game. And of course, I also like Crystal very much. Endorsed!
Will this work with Ling's Coiffure, as Hair Pack is integrated, or would I have to create a patch?
It will work with Lings, but only if you change the Master file from Hair Pack to Lings with FO3Edit. If you do not wish to do that, then use the Crystal Version 1_0 No Hairpack version of the mod. Crystal's hairstyle(s?) is/are contained in the mod itself.
Druuler is correct. Use the No Hairpack version to use Ling's. Otherwise you will have to edit the hairpack version. Thanks Dru!

Decided to have a replay through FO3, and had this drama, but your fix, well erm fixed it.
So, cheers and thanks :-)

1) Any way to make her wear what I want?
2) Any way to increase her talking kind of like Brisa mod?

Nvm, fixed it by loading her after my other companion mods.
You are welcome!
