Um...don't to sound stupid but,why don't they explode after a certain distance? or are they supposed to fallow you around and get in your way? (I really don't know because in never did let one get more than 12 ft from me)
Yeah, impossible to have the weapon show true damage while in the inventory, because it is the spider drone that actually does the damage and not the "mine." The "blast" from the mine is really just summoning the spider drone (and it does 1 damdage to make sure victims report assault correctly), who blows up on his own after chasing down a target (same reason why the player gets no xp from it's kills). I was thinking about making it impossible for the spider drones to target the player, but that would make it so the player would be the only one that could use the mines. If you read the terminals from operation anchorage, one of them talks about how the mines were just as likely to turn on their master as go after the intended target, and thats why the mines had to be air dropped. Regardless, I only included 12 of the mines in the game so they're really more for selling/playing with (shouldn't end up costing the player too much missing xp points), and anyone is welcome to change this mod as they see fit. Just getting it out there for anyone thats interested.
OK I played around with them a bit and there are some issues. 1st and foremost, you get no exp when they kill something, my best guess is that they are acting like exploding followers. Second, they do more then 1 damage but I have no idea what they actually do. And last, they have some very very odd behavior, they will agro followers in preference to legit enemies, and sometimes even set each other off. Followers don't seem to activate them but once activated they will, a lot of times make a follower a direct target. Its a cool idea in theory and they look great scampering after their targets but more then a bit buggy at the moment. If you can get the bugs fixed I'll be more then happy to come back and endorse this mod.
1 damage? seems a tad bit low... I haven't realy played with them much yet but the displayed damage on them is only 1 even with lots of explosives skill and demo 3 bug maybe? Can you give us a hint what the damage is supposed to be like?
