And technically, the way the minigun is fed in fallout 3 is incorrect. Miniguns and vulcans are belt fed. It's the way they are built that requires this, as you see the spinning of the barrels pulls the belt along inside the gun. If this were done with a large magazine, such as what we see in the game, there is no hold for the barrels to latch onto, and thus would cease fire after only one round. Or it would jam, so I can only deduce that inside the metal box of ammunition that you load into the minigun ingame is actually a self contained and folded belt of ammo. So Magazine would be a misnomer in this case, and it's actually a belt.
Im pretty sure most of us here payed our own money to play the game how WE want to the guy that made this mod wants to play the game HIS way so why couldn't you just do the constructive thing and click the back button in the first place instead of crying your little eyes out about it.
To OP a decent idea and a decent mod well done.
Ps.I couldn't stand seeing 13 comments just too superstitious i am.
@KoirO Never thought about that before. I'll be sure to use the right word next time.
What I did: some of you might have noticed that the Rock it Launcher doesn't need reloading ever (besides putting stuff into its "hold"). I simply changed the ammo source for the minigun to one similar to the RILauncher's.
Since NPCs aren't scripted to use the RILauncher properly I guess that's the reason they are having problems using the new minigun. So maybe the only solution is to implement this on a player only minigun.
@alegria010 I never said this mod is about realism. My other mod is but this one's not. If you want realism then you should know that it's not possible to walk around firing a minigun in the first place.
But I do admit it's a bit overpowered. So maybe what I'll do in the future is to include a reloading say every 1000 rounds or something like that.
Why remove the clip entirely when you can just increase it to say 1,000 or more (within reason) because if the game crashes when an npc uses a minigun almost anything involving the brotherhood of steel will crash and burn. I just fail to see the practicality of this mod.
This isnt about realism but changing the game mechanic just because you can. It's like making your minigun silent or editing your BB gun to do 10000 damage per shot. You have to ask yourself: what's the point of even playing?
Even if you use your minigun every other fight, the game doesn't spawn enough 5mm ammo for you to blast it willy nilly. Unless, of course, you use a console command to load yourself with a bunch of ammo. And if you're going to cheat anyway, why bother with another mod? Use the console commands to give yourself whatever flavor of godmode you want.
I love a good mod but yours, I'm afraid, is just cheating, and badly done at that.

It is a pity that this script does not work for all miniguns in the game, but only for the player.

@JER01
Sorry. happened to me once too.
@Harmy52
No. FOSE is not required for now.
@Mkaer: Does this by any chance require OBSE?
What I believe this mods purpose is... is that it REMOVES the magazine/box whatever where the ammo comes from...
Instead of reloading... you use up the ammo you have.
At least thats what I think this mod does.
Maybe the uploader can shed some light on this?

If you don't manage to fix the game crashing with NPC's using the minigun
Then I recommend doing this to a minigun that only the player can have...
Say...A custom minigun... yet leave all the vanilla miniguns alone.
This mod has great potential
