The problem with the original texture being dark can be easily fixed by selecting the lower part that has incorrect contrast and just lower the contrast alot. and then its just a simple matter of tweaking it with clone stamp.
I would say this is a nice mod except that you've left in that bloody awful mistake that bethsoft let slip by: The two tone male t-shirt. The back is olive drab, as is the top of the shirt in the front, but just below the collar the colour changes to a dark green because they must have used a huge block brush to burn or darken the chest armour. The female armour doesn't suffer from this, though.
