Due to avid requests for an update, I will be providing more patches soon to try and fix these last remaining issues.
Currently Planned Fixes:
BUGS: •Basement shares same cell as Madame Jealle's shop <?> •Possible Wadsworth navpath bug <fixed?> •Floor tiles popping still <fixed?> •Basement sorter needs more items to sort •Will see what I can do about the TV <user posted mirror>
If there is anything else I'm missing, please reply explaining the bug.
EDIT3: Version 2-8-8 is out! updated bug list.
Please help me get the sorter working at 100% by making a list of items that still aren't being sorted! Items from mods might not work, but we can try.
I am so glad to hear someone is still working on this. Thank you!
One Question: I downloaded the movies for the TV but could not install them via NMM. I then tried to manually install them. I get an error report. I know you are not responsible for that mod's site but is there any fix for this as it does pertain to the house? I would enjoy this house anyway, but I really think my kids would get a kick out of watching movies via FO3.
Thanks again for your work.
EDIT: I found the television mod by Razorwire:
http://fallout3.nexusmods.com/mods/14675
For anyone else who wants to watch TV if the movie intallation won't work.It works fine, tried it out myself.
Could you adjust so that its compatible with personal terminal? If your looking at the entrance its located in the corner to the right. Next to the vanilla lockers across from the vanilla crafting table.
I am really glad someone is still working on this. The problems I've run into are: when I get close to some walls, they disappear revealing other room or unintended textures. My pristine vending machine is also mashed together with a jukebox for some reason. Also I can't resurrect Wadsworth but that is probably due to another mod; When he dies, he explodes.
Currently working on the item sorter which is the last hurdle before the next update. This upcoming update will not include compatibility patches. I will get to those after.
EDIT: Looks like the item sorter is working, just has limited items set. It would be much appreciated if you guys could compile a list of items that aren't sorting. Thanks!
I'll also move the sorter chest so that it's more noticeable.
its awesome you are working on this great mod and still doing work on it to keep it functional and fun, an excellent mod that deserves some tender loving care to get it working perfect. Not sure if your actually going to add to the mod any or just fix the various bugs about, but some things i think would be nice.
Other rooms should require a key you buy from Moira instead of just being there from the start. The game is super easy to haul up hundreds of thousands of caps with nothing to spend it on, would be nice to have a "cap sink" to get those caps out of inventory. Opening doors to the roof, bathroom area, rear rooms, etc would require you to plop down caps to access them. Also updating maybe the computer or something to "enhance you" for caps. Maybe a function get a free bonus perk to choose for 50k caps, you get the idea. Every game I play my inventory is stockedup with 30k ammo of everything, 200k caps, bla bla and thats on very hard mode which uses up more ammo than normal. Would be nice to be able to use those caps and just get them out of inventory. A nice house could do that for me!
Dogmeat does not follow me inside. Any suggestions? I un-checked this mod and left all others active and he follows me inside. Let me know if you need more detail. Thanks.

I'm literally speechless, after seeing you once again came back to work on this fine mod. I gave your new upload a really quick test-around, and so far i'm glad to say most relevant issues were addressed (clipping walls, missing textures in house themes, etc) and i couldn't be happier, specially considering this is my favorite mod EVER, and it was really heart-aching to see it still had so many little, but important issues clinging to it.
I'll spend some more time testing how lightning works over items dropped inside the house, which used to be a huge problem, and the overall improvement on the mod, but so far, i'm really satisfied.
Kudos to you Josh, glad to see this mod finally come "full circle". I'll be looking forward to what the future will hold for this and your other works, since i'm sure there's still plenty of room for improvement.
BTW, I take it that you never ended up making the basement a new cell so it didn't override the vanilla Madame Jealle's shop?
If not, I make look into doing so myself.
EDIT: Well I just went and did that, wasn't that hard. What took me longest was figuring out that portals (what tels the engine when to and when not to render a room the player may or may not have vision on) were not being duplicated alongside everything else when using "Duplicate Cell" in GECK.
Here is the new .esp, which makes the house basement be its own NEW cell, and also restores access to the Madame Jealle's building.
Notes when updating: 1. You will keep whatever is inside the basement containers; no need to take it all out before updating. 2. You will NOT keep anything in the basement outside of containers; all the clutter will be reset (free stuff will be teleported to Madame Jealle's). 3. Don't update while loading a save from the basement, that's just tempting fate.
If you don't update it here within a week or so, I may or may not upload it as a new mod (just the plugin of course, not the assets). https://mega.nz/file/lYMhHLqS#VKAdCwm7PC63xeMm5fP8mD_f0PV_VCrfBVpb7nkYMfI
Help, I know this is late but seeing if anyone can helps. I downloaded this mod by vortex first , the house expanded but most of the stuff was missing and the floor was just a sheet metal floor, the norm for megaton. I've also manually downloaded it to try and fix it but same thing, so if someone could help it would be amazing!
Easy way to get the keycard when broken steel is already active. Go to the Jefferson memorial, open local map, locate the sift pump/pump control. From the entrance, go left and up, walk to the last pipe. When you see the damaged pipe, covered with chicken wire, use tcl and go in the pipe. Disable tcl. To your right is an unlocked pipe door which leads you to the sub basement where you need to be. Just find the keycard and go up to the normal exit which will work and drops you off near the rotunda.
Just don't. please people, don't download this if you value your sanity. This mod will absolutely cause null saves and crashes. You can disable it, you can completely uninstall and delete it, your game will still have the same problems. It's impossible to find everything in game that it modified but didn't delete. You can literally go and uninstall and reinstall every single mod you have after this one and you will STILL have problems. just don't do this mod. There's a better than average chance you'll never be able to use your megaton home again even if you uninstall every mod and attempt vanilla. I actually re-installed the entire game. Once you start having problems with the missing texture exclamation points or glowing textures, stop going to megaton entirely. you'll get the same null saves and texture problems at craterside and other interiors. It's also possible you'll not be able to visit rivet city either.
I'm not an inexperienced mod user. I've installed and fixed hundreds of mods. manipulating mod orders, install and uninstall sequences, troubleshooting conflicts. but this mod, where the author doesn't even list the dozens of conflicts, is not repairable, and neither is your game.
I need some help. I'm not sure if this is caused by the mod itself or if I'm not seeing something. The queen sized bed in the main bedroom is completely missing, replaced solely by a white object that has the shape of a coffin, in the middle of a red light that takes the shape of a cone or a pyramid. If someone can help me realize what's going wrong, I would be happy to know. (The "coffin" is actually just an exclamation point in a red shape.)
I realize this is two years late, however I thought I'd post a fix to this in case it helps anyone. I had the same issue with the meshes and textures missing, so I looked at the file structure of the mod. The .esp file should be in the "Data" folder, not outside of it. To fix this: Manually download the mod (.rar) to your desktop and unzip it. Drag the .esp file into the Data folder. If done correctly, you'll see the following inside the Data folder:
meshes (folder) textures (folder) Megaton House and Theme Overhaul.esp
Re-zip the Data folder, and use your mod manager to install the file.
So, the mod does indeed work. It's just a small step on the user's side. :-)
ok, i have problem to run this mod, i followed guide to kill wodswort, and dont have any themes, i use project reality, interior lighting and enb effects and thats it from graphical mods which may interfere with this house mod... is this solvable, help is appreciated.
The link under installation leads to no download. Do I need to install this one here first? http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/1434/?tab=2&navtag=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.nexusmods.com%2Ffallout3%2Fajax%2Fmodfiles%2F%3Fid%3D1434&pUp=1
And then I install with yours here on this page without removing the old one?

Edit: Welp, this is obviously abandoned now, it would be great if some really dedicated dweller with modding knowledge could take a look at this.
Thanks for fixing the problems! *eagerly awaiting*

Do note that you need all five DLCs enabled. If not, it will CTD on startup.
