    This mod is no longer supported by me. Modding Bethesda games was fun, but I have moved on. I won't update any of my mods. However, any mod author may use my mods in any way they want, be it further updates or new mods based on them, compilations or whatever you can think of. No permission needed, just give credit please.     Okay, so i disarmed the bomb, and the Atoms Attacked me and the rest of the town joined into the fray. and after the bullets stopped flying the atoms were dead. so i looted their corpses and went off to moira to sell the clothes and when i got there she was panicked. and her bodyguard was Agro and he attacked me. so i had to kill him as well and then the ENTIRE TOWN was agro at me. WTF!? this mod is Broken don't bother downloading it. the OP's not gonna be fixing it any time soon it seems :/

    OK, well finally got round to the required level needed to disarm the bomd. It was quite good knowing that the bomb could explode on me- Nerve wracking, as it should be. Nice work there...

    But...

    I didn`t like how I had to kill everyone, even people in the House of Atom. I don`t even really think everyone would need killing, maybe only the Confessor- Once he`s gone, everyone else should just walk away. Contrary to popular belief doing something against one`s religion doesn`t automatically mean they`ll try to kill you. In fact, most religious people will do nothing at all except go away. It`s only absolutely murderous nutty fanatics that go crazy.

    Also, remember that the Atom people probably know the residents of Megaton really well and would not so happily want to kill eachother. They showed tolerance to the Atom people, I think the Atom People would be tolerant.

    Also, even doing this at night when the confessor was gone (I waited specifically for him to go), made no difference- Blood bath again.

    After wasting half of Megaton between my companion, dogmeat and other residents of Megaton, I decided to uninstall and go back back to vanila`s way.

    What would have been better would be to simply have everyone walk away and simply preach in their House with maybe a simple fight to knock the Confessor unconscous, after which he would just go home too, defeated. I also think it would help prevent too heavy a footprint (half of the place wiped out) on the Megaton feel.

    But since no more work`s being done on this it don`t matter.

    @Volek - Its been several months now since 0.3 was released. Please, are planning on returning to implement some of the requested changes in the comments post?

    It would an additional interesting dynamic to the Megaton/Tenpenny Home Quest.


    Well, i'm really sorry, but i don't play FO3 anymore, which means i'm not modding FO3 anymore as well. Most of my FO3 mods are now Modder's Resources, including this one. So if anyone wants to improve this mod, i'd be really happy.

    Just in passing...while it's trivially easy to keep the kind of nuke shown in the game from turning Megaton to vapor (an explosives skill of 25 and a wire cutter would more than cover it); it's a great deal harder to actually render it safe (which requires dismantling significant parts of it). If you don't do the latter, then there are still dozens of pounds of very old and touchy explosives wrapped around more dozens of pounds of plutonium; and any significant bump (or weapons fire) could still render the town completely uninhabitable.

    So would it be possible to break this into a two part quest? The first would still look like the vanilla quest, any beginner can sneak up to any part of the bomb and prevent the crater from becoming much wider. However, that would still leave a very dangerous dirty bomb sitting in the center of town; and Simms would want it dealt with as soon as possible, leading to the second part requiring much greater skill and specific access points (this mod, in other words). The house could then be handed over as scheduled, with some possible additional reward for finishing the job.

    This. The tech stuff is true, the quest stuff I like.

    I dont use Fook2, and probably never will, so i cant make it compatible. If anyone wanna do it, just go ahead!

    Love the mod, only thing I really need is a fook2 compatible version. Well done, will endorse when that comes out, as I can't really use the mod as is. Thanks in advance!
