This looks like a really great idea. I have it installed, I just need to go to an area that has one. The closest one to me is in Megaton. Where I am currently parked in the game. Cant wait to try this out. Be back to comment and endorse.

edit: Just saw it in-game. Way cool. I love the look of it. You incorporated some elements from the Robco factory into it, at least the one in Megaton looks that way. Looks awesome and fits the theme. The storage box was there. I did not have any metal junk on me at the time while I was in-game but I was gonna run into the Springvale school and grab some junk there and see how it works.

The machine works great. It converted my stuff no problems. Cant wait to play around with this some more and get scrap metal. Highly recommended and Endorsed!

I truly believe that it is equally accredited to both Bethesda and the community.

Bethesda made the base world large enough, so that you didnt feel that there was only a single route from start to finish. Progression was fluid with a good sense of randomness in the encouters that you would experience.

Then the modding community took that and has built a massive amount of changes that made teh game unique over and over again. And there are some awesome modders out there, some that take the current atmosphere and build upon it, and others that turns turns upsidedown.

Both add new expereinces, but this type of community can help continue them through feedback and freash ideas. So you see, its not just the game, and its not just the modders, its everyone that is involved. That's what keeps bringing us back!

I still haven't picked up Skyrim yet. I'm playing through all the Dragon Age series right now. Then I'll need a break from the Medivel time period and jump back to FO3 for some alternate reality death and destruction. Then maybe Skyrim for something different. All in time.. <img class=">

Looks like a very interesting mod. Very creative. It is quite funny how Rivet City (interior) is full of junk on the floor when they have someone to clean it up...

    @Thasic

I'm the same way. I don't own Skyrim or any TES games but I will eventually try it. Does look very interesting from the trailers. I have FNV and I jumped on the wagon as well but I always return to FO3. It is my first FO game and I have bought FO Classic Collection. It just something about the FO3 that makes me come back. I'm also glad that FO3 is still being modded with great mods out there. We just need a companion wheel, a Project Capitol Wasteland (PN ported version not the FWE one), MCM, fps weapons wheel and much more awesome mods from over there to over here. Would be nice for Beth to release a new patch including a weapons mod too! "One can only dream" -Veronica

That is a big overhaul of the mod, since it would require complete rescripting and fucntionality changes. The models wouldnt be a big deal, but if you visit the multiple locations, you'll notice that each is built slightly different from the others, but all have the basis of a conveyor-belt-type system.

The concept is that you are depositing your recycle items into the console machine (there is a door that would theorecticlly open on the left hand side of the machine), and those items would be sent into the recycler, and stipped down into scrap metal pieces for you at the other end. At least that is how I had pictured it when creating it...

To save the player from having to walk aroudn the machine to the other end to "pick up" their scrap metal, I simply automated the return-to-inventory process. In reality, this would take hours to complete, but I felt that this edition was super fast (modders disgression on speed, lol).

I will put your suggestion into my personal revamp listing for later. Thanks for the feedback!

I haven't actually gotten around to finding the machine yet but I think you said something about there being a container attached to it. If that's the case then could you set it up to check the container for all the recycling items and then put the scrap metal back into that container? That way a player could just deposit the items they want to recycle, then activate the machine, and retrieve their scrap metal from that container. I'm also wondering if you could make weapons and armors recyclable as well as I have a crap ton of 'junk' weapons after awhile. Then it's just a matter of having a crafting mod that can utilize all that scrap to make useful weapons, ammo, and armor.

Edit: I've found the machine and I like the two main parts, but now i'm thinking that it'd look neater if the console piece was up against the side of the taller piece so they'd look like one piece of machinery, then add two dumpster containers on either side of the taller piece so one can be the 'inbox' and the other the 'outbox'. then set it up like I was saying before, with the 'inbox' being where a player deposits the junk and the 'outbox' being the container the machine puts the recycled material in.

Thanks! I'm still doing another overhaul of the entire gmae for a playthrough for myself. Eventually I'll take a trip to Vegas... someday. Skyrim too, eventually. At some point I just need to stop modding and play some games, but in the end, I have fun either way.

Very inventive. A great idea. It's good to see people are still modding for FO3. Most people jumped to FONV or Skyrim by now. I have both those games but i keep coming back to the Capitol Wasteland.

Not EVERY piece of junk, jsut the ones that are metal-esce. Still, even for a moderate collector, this can produce more spare parts than you could ever need!

So basically you transform every single piece of junk into scraps?
If it is that,I liked and will endorse your mod soon. Thanks for making this ecological assistance modification.
