The campfire is not really meant to grill lots of stuff. It's a stopgap for characters who are new and/or poor and can't afford the grill, or for stopping to cook lunch partway through a long hike. For grilling large batches you really need the Semi-Portable Grill.
Would it be possible to make the portable campfire a consumable that PlaceAtMe's a marker in front of the player? That way, the item is hotkeyable, making it much more convenient for making batches of food for long hauls.
