I have only been able to get this type of ctd if I have a large number waiting near the tent and a npc spawns they go into combat with when I get close to the tent. You could try waiting in a nearby inside area or typing coc xtronproffcamp04interior in the console to be moved to the tent and wait 2 ingame days if this was the cause they should finish the combat and you should be able to exit the tent without a crash.
I have a little problem with your version 12. In the Perffesors Tent, I am getting the missing mesh symbol where the radio is supposed to be. I saw a way to correct this a while ago, but the post is no longer here. I you could provide a solution, I would be very appreciative. Thank you.
The quest may have been unable to determine what model to place to make it work again open the console usually the ~ key and type set xtronq.res1 to 0 and it should be back to being able to process again. If you cant access the console there is a command using the radio under maintence called Reset Tracking Token that may reset it.
It should if it fails to determine what follower to place either replace it with an A1.5xx version or just revive the existing one and then after a short delay vaporize them after showing an error message. The vaporize after an error message will also happen randomly when the line "set clrnd to 1 + GetRandomPercent * 100 / 100" lands on 20
Edit I belive i found the error a typo in the section that assigns the A1.5xxx version preventing it from executing the error vaporize sequence if it could not determine the proper model to place.
In the version 10, when I try to convert a NPC from a mod, I receive a message "Already Processing". After that, all the others NPC (from a mod or in the basic game) showing the same message.
I already have a companion with your mod but when them dies, the same message appears when I trying to ressurect them.

Finally it was a conflict between your mod and Alton, IL... After removing Alton, your mod working fine again!
It's not just Mesme, but all the companion mod that conflict with Alton.
