Since joey2176 doesn't appear to be about anymore WHO WANTS A TTW VERSION ? fully integrated with all the add-ons, interiors, and tweaks (subject to permissions from the other authors of course)
Yes I am joey2176 the original author, as long as this mod remains a requirement and is not repacked and re-uploaded you can create plugins using the Esm master file or create a new master file to overwrite the original.
And now, here's My Version. An Overhaul mod (still requires all the original mods) that streamlines them all into a single narrative. That right the Interiors, Northern Base, even the Market is now part of the story. First video (still rough) is up
Watching the vid looks like the LOD files are missing for East Anacostia? Just wondering, no big deal. I would or should recommend anyone playing or installing FO3 version of Orions Gate to see it first without any of the add-on mods.
It's 2025 and I just discovered one of the most interesting lore-friendly mod I have played in Fallout 3. I have question though if the original author still active here, what's going on with that mysterious portal after finishing "Paradise Lost" quest? Got some nice items though it's been unfinished in some parts of the map.
Unfortunately unfinished, a little too ambitious back then I think. I had too many ideas for new worlds only problem is I wanted to cram them all into one mod.
This mod looks pretty special and I'd like to play it but I'm coming up with a problem. Vortex flags this as a "not compatible with Fallout 3" and an error saying that the file type is made for Oblivion and that deployment will crash my game. I ignore it, and sure enough the game will crash on startup. Is there a fox for this issue? It worked before and now Vortex is determined to crash my game on startup because of my defiance of a direct order.
I've never seen that problem before, sorry wish I could help. The last time I played through this mod was a few years ago and everything worked fine. Not sure what changed, maybe an update or something, hopefully someone can give you assistance. 😉
2023 review: I already finished The Librarian quest mod 2 times in my lifetime (first time was back in 2013), but I have never tried to properly summarize why such a mod (even though, technically speaking, "unfinished") got me hooked every time when I wanted to return back in Fallout 3 modding terrain. And maybe it's the right time to finally give my full impressions for new and returning Fallout 3 players. The main "selling point" of The Librarian - Orion's Gate for me was and will be great novelty and unusual range of different locations which you will visit while going through the main quest. Everything feels fresh and new with The Librarian's new content. Especially after seeing and visiting all vanilla locations with familiar landscape of the Capital Wasteland The Librarian quest mod isn't the best written type of story mod, which many times can be incoherent, not well-paced or even not "deep" enough. But this mod brings a real sense of adventure and strong vibe of old action\adventure movies from 80's with unusual (even for Fallout 3 setting and lore) sci-fi elements in amazing mix of Stargate, Indiana Jones and other pop-culture references from good old days. So, from this point of view - The Librarian is a pretty good example of visual and gameplay experience which doesn't actually need huge, non-linear narrative ground. Great variety in landscape types, enemies and characters helps overshadow all of the problems within the narrative of The Librarian - Orion's Gate. From Japanese/Samurai theme to tropical paradise of some sort, you can explore several absolutely non-identical biomes/locations and have a real sense of travelling through time and space. And the special cherry (or maybe "cherries", huh?) on top of that cake is new unique female companions. They work like a standard followers in vanilla Fallout 3 with usual amount of settings and options to choose from. And also they don't have any deep backstory or optional quests connected to these ladies. But the main reason to bring them back to the Capital Wasteland with you is the ability to give them many new outfits and accessories from The Librarian's main market location. Of course, it would be inappropriate to left technical side of this quest untouched. There are several consistent bugs and problems which you can encounter in the particular sequences of main story, mostly related to scripts. But, many thanks to strong community of Fallout 3 mod creators and users, most of them can be fixed or dealt with by following useful tips and suggestions in the comment section of this mod. And, yes, like I already mentioned in the beginning of this review, The Librarian - Orion's Gate isn't properly finished quest mod. That's why your journey ends with reaching enormous City of Angels district and nothing else. It can be a bit unsatisfying after all that you have gone through but I understand that not every big mod project can be finished correctly (the main problem of Fallout 3 modding scene in general). We all have "real life", problems and lack of precious time to spend on our hobbies like modding or gaming in general. But looking through my last playthrough of this quest mod and collecting beautiful screenshots, the only thing that matters is, as they say, "Don't cry because it's over. Smile because it happened". As for the main tradition in my reviews, I need to answer the final question - should you try this mod in 2023? Yes, even with all rough edges and not properly finished final stage, The Librarian - Orion's Gate can be your new unforgettable adventure in Fallout universe and one of the main reasons to return to Fallout 3 modding scene in 2023 and upcoming years. Endorsement from me.
Thanks for the endorsement and for taking the time to come back and leave a thoughtful comment, it is appreciated, kudos from me. Hope you come back and post some of those screenshots
I continue to play the game by advancing the quests and obtaining keys through the code. All I know so far is that it's impossible to talk to the alien scientists while the human NPCs continue to work fine.Of course, there's no way to open the door, and I don't think you can get the key without being able to talk to the alien scientists
looting enclave soldiers at the snowy area caused freezing -> get this mod http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=5715 finishing the first dialogue with master Hanzo caused freezing -> setstage aaaLMQuest 90 to get past it don't have the key to the portal -> player.additem aaaGatewayHanzoKey 1
im sorry if this is a stupid question but did you type it exactly like that for the setstage? my game it telling me it doesn't recognize the quest parameter :(
I'm experiencing a crash here. when I bring Angelina back to The Librarian and get the key to the museum, my game crashes upon entering. the loadscreen doesn't finish, the game just crashes. any advice would be welcome.
1) Can you buy the slaves in the market? 2) Unlocked a door that needed a key. Inside, it said to go to the Gauntlet. How would I get this key legitimately and does it have a quest? 3) Where is the 'beast' that Hunter wants? I know its name, via FO3Edit again, but not it's location.
On a side note, love the locations. The house for the Enclave is beautiful. The scenery is breathtaking. Just wish it had Map Markers to teleport back to. Great mod and storyline.
Desculpe, mas meu pc não está configurado para o mod FO3, você precisa perguntar por aí e ver se ainda existem autores ativos que fazem traduções para o seu idioma.

Your Joey2176 ?
The permissions state no conversions, and technically TTW would be a conversation, all be it more of a version upgrade.
I've posted this same comment to all the other related mods, once I hear back from the other authors I'll set to the conversion.
