UPDATE:

Small addition. I have now uploaded a version of Better DC Weather that makes the skies clear all the time in and around DC and makes nights a lot lot darker. Please try it and give feedback. Thanks!

v1.1 UPDATE NOW AVAILABLE

v1.1 alters the following in the 'WastelandDCClear' weather setting:

- Reduced Night 'Far' fog distance to 60000. I'd forgotten to reduce this previously.
- Changed the Daytime fog colour to reduce the general blueish tint.
- Changed the ImageSpaceModifiers for Day, Sunrise and Sunset to the default Surburban ones to reduce the washed out look to sky, buildings and streets at certain times of the day.
- Changed the ImageSpaceModifier for Night to the default Urban one to make the environment darker at night.

Overall, things look a bit more atmospheric now and in better keeping with a more urban environment.

Updating from an earlier version
---------------------------------------
If you're updating, just replace the existing *.esp with the new version (whichever one you are using). Once in-game, you will have to 'Wait' an hour or fast travel to another point in the same cell if you want the new changes to kick in immediately. But that's all.

1. DESCRIPTION
=============

Basically this mod does the following, and only the following:

- Adds a new weather called 'WastelandDCClear' with the same basic properties as 'WastelandClear', but with the maximum view distance halved.
- Alters all urban climates to allow for clears skies most of the time, while retaining the chance of the default cloudy skies some of the time.
- Alters the Wasteland weather 'Regions' around DC to allow for clears skies most of the time, while retaining the chance of the default cloudy skies some of the time.
- See updates for further changes and fixes!

2. INSTALLATION
==============

As with all mods, I heartily recommend the use of FOMM to organise and order their loading. This mod is no exception!

Two esp files are included:

Better DC Weather - 80-20.esp (80% chance of clear weather, 20% of default cloudy weather)
Better DC Weather - 60-40.esp (60% chance of clear weather, 40% of default cloudy weather)

It should go without saying, but ONLY ONE of these files should be used to work as expected.

1) Extract the required *.esp file from the archive and place it in your 'Fallout 3\Data' directory.
2) In FOMM make sure that the chosen Better DC Weather *.esp file is ordered AFTER any other weather mods and a tick placed beside it.
3) Load your game and enjoy.

3. UNINSTALLATION
=================

1) Untick the chosen Better DC Weather *.esp file in FOMM and close FOMM
2) Delete the chosen Better DC Weather *.esp file from your 'Fallout 3\Data' directory.

4. ISSUES AND INCOMPATIBILITIES
============================

I have to admit that I've only tested this with Fellout and saw no problems whatsoever. Fellout works as before and the only changes are the ones listed above. However, for this mod to work as expected you should make sure it is ordered and loaded AFTER Fellout, otherwise there is a good possiblity that Fellout will override the climate changes with its own, resulting in this mod not behaving as expected.

Naturally, if any other mod you use makes specific changes to the same settings as this mod does then you will get some unexpected results. None of them should be the slightest bit game-breaking, since the changes are simply visual. But, all things being equal, I cannot 100% guarantee that disaster will not occur. That's a given, since I don't know your PC, its game configuration, or what other mods you are running. So, although there should be no issues at all in using this mod, as with any mod USING IT IS AT YOUR OWN RISK!

Rule of thumb; if in doubt, make backups first. YOU are responsible for them. Nobody else.

'Nuff said...

Other than that, enjoy. And if you encounter any issues, please let me know. Thanks!
