    My Fallout 3 mods are now as is. I can't troubleshoot any issues as I haven't played, nor modded, the game in years. If you have issues with any of my mods, and you can't find an answer in the comments, it'd be best to ask on the Fallout 3 Mods forum. There's likely people there who still play the game and can better help you.

    A couple of months ago I got a PM from a member asking if they could convert my esp to be used with TTW (Tale of Two Wastelands). Back when that came out I'd planned on doing it, but had only done it for its predecessor (RFCW), and even then only for an early, legal, version. I've since removed that file from the New Vegas page as it's outdated and obsolete. FYI: Permission was granted for the TTW conversion. I don't really have an interest in reinstalling and playing FO3 anytime soon.

    I recently uninstalled FNV but may get back to it later. I may also add my converted esp to be used there, if anyone wants to use him in New Vegas as I did for a while. I'd have to look into all that, though. It may even need to be more tutorial on how to do it than actual files, though. Seeing as FO3 stuff can't be 'ported to FNV and shared.
    I've got stuff going on at the moment with a possible house move so can't really do much modding for any game right now. Just doing this post to let others know that I do still check PM's (I get an email notification).

    The karma is already covered in the description, and is intentional. You need to be Good or higher.
    To recruit him you can't be Evil or Very Evil. His original alignment is Good, so you need to be around that.

    You can't recruit him unless you have good karma.
    You can never recruit him if you haven't before going to Raven Rock.

    These are a few issues I found.

    I'm playing New Vegas but am traipsing around the Capital Wasteland at the moment, with the help of Requiem for a Capital Wasteland (a New Vegas mod). Also in tow is Charon, ED-E and Marcus. Although Marcus and ED-E are waiting patiently outside the Jefferson Memorial. Charon is over in Pennsylvania Avenue somewhere.

    My game started to really lag with so many followers in tow, so just the one is fine, plus I forgot how much fun it was with just this one. For a start he always has something to say in combat. Whereas my other version rarely said anything.

    As someone commented in the RFCW thread, which I also agree with - "I like the gameplay of Vegas but the atmosphere of the Wasteland." That's probably why I'm still spending more time in the Wasteland than finishing quests in the Mojave.

    Glad to see others still using him and having fun as well :-)

    it feels like it's been decades since i played fallout 3, i'm still dragging him around. had to overhaul the game from basicly scratch a few times, then i got a new graphics card.

    the game has run better then it ever did before, harkness is doing good, although i caught him shooting me in the back <_< he could have moved to shoot the sentry bot. good thing he wasn't using one of the machine guns i gave him.

    i'm still trying to figure out what broke the megaton gate, i can't go through it normally because my companions get stuck in megaton. fast travel bypasses the problem. and it only seems to effect going out of megaton and not going in, so it must be a megaton mod that is to blame. probably one i have used since i started modding, not game breaking but annoying. i doubt harkness is causing it. at least i can bypass it. good to see you haven't completely dropped this, i used a ton of mods that got dropped and i couldn't use them beyond that point.

    well i've got alot of free time, gotta find a way to burn it up during the day. but when i was in the market once he left at 7:00pm.

    but not important, i'm glad he's fixed now, i knew the problems i was having had to be linked to a mod i was using for a long time, didn't think a gun health mod would mess up an npc character, but strange things happen.

    i think i've drug him around the wasteland so long that it feels weird if he's not on my team.

    edit: i just did his quest a few days ago, [had to reset my game from scratch because i screwed it up again] he leaves the market at 5:00pm that is on a 15 timescale.

    but i had yet more harkness issues, i was wondering why he no longer had his armor on at the bridge.

    so i went into the geck and checked out his inventory and he had -1000 encubmerance, his armor was not in his inventory. i thought that was weird because this was on a fresh new game.

    so i reinstalled him again and that fixed his inventory. but he still wasn't wearing his armor, and once i used the groovatron to reset his inventory, i noticed his textures were messed up.

    but i've had that before and reinstalling breezes fixed it.

    i probably need to run BOSS again and i should be good.

    Cool, glad you got the bugs sorted :-)

    I don't bother following NPC's to find out their schedules, the GECK tells me if I remember to look at their AI packages.
    I think also their schedules won't be absolute when the player is around. There are some, like in the Market, where if the player is still there they won't leave until you do.

    But, anyway, as long as there are no issues that's good :-)

    I'm using him in New Vegas at the moment though it has more bugs and problems than the very first version of this one. But, it's not for release, for obvious reasons, so I just ignore the issues and keep playing :-)

    i think his pattern in rivet city is from 7:00 am till 6:00 or 7:00pm he's in the market then he goes to the bridge to eat then from 7:00 to 89ish he goes back in and either goes to bed or checks the hallways before going to bed.

    i might be wrong but i can stalk him to get his full pattern i have almost did that several times in my last 20 or so games... i'm weird i know.


    i got a weird glitch it probably had something to with disabling alot mods at one time, but he didn't have his armor on when i got to rivet city, he didn't even have his combat armor in his inventory, i was like O_O ^^: .

    i told him i was wandering around and then put my armor in his inventory with the groovatron.

    but other then that he seems to be working properly for the first time in a long time. he actually put his gun away when walking away from the bridge, and he stared at me while he was yelling at me and he didn't get face freeze when i talked to him.

    it seemed to be the durabilty and damage mod i had been using since forever was causing him to glitch up and messing the game up as a whole, i no longer use it.

    edit: i also found out why his dialoge box was changing i found out just now that my megaton home is one of the fire to places. i thought you had to set it. so no more problems anymore. that's nice.

    hmm i wonder why they do for me, it usually happens when i mess with his inventory, i give him ammo and stuff and then close the inventory box and his dialoge box changes, i've always had this problem but it may not be a problem with him though.

    because it happened to other companions before.

    maybe it's a problem with a conflicting mod, or the load order, then i have no idea how to fix it, i don't even understand what a load order even does.

    yeah he is funny when you stay in the market past 8:00 pm, i was in the market once shopping and he starts yelling at me, i was thinking what's your problem pal? and then all the other people went nuts on me and he killed them all. it was weird and funny.

    I'm not sure, but the Rivet City related topics shouldn't come up after he's been hired. Maybe because my quest has a higher priority. I don't remember how it works.
    Maybe I added extra conditions to them, I haven't opened the mod up in a few months.

    Don't go into the marketplace after hours (if you happen to have a hangar key on you) as he gets cranky, lol! I did that once, by accident and even though he threatened about forcefully removing me he couldn't. It's a wonder he didn't blow a fuse with the conflicting choices.

    Even after I edit the mod I continue playing and don't have any issues. I don't need to fire and re-hire him, the changes I make show up straight away, if what was changed/edited/removed worked at all.
    The Vault 87 edits that Miaximus did took a while to get working right, and I used the same plugin all through normal playing as well as testing.

    It's fine to just overwrite the existing files and continue with the game. I know MMM has a much different way of updating (clean saving) but with what that mod does it's needed. Not so much with this one.

    Anyway, with the dialogue screw up that you got I'll see what I can do to perhaps completely disable his Rivet City topics altogether, so they never come up after he's been recruited.
    Even before I made him a follower I never asked him about anything quest-related. To me he seemed unapproachable and just in a bad mood all the time, plus there are plenty of other people on the ship who are more helpful and friendlier.

    I just wanted to upload the same version I've been using in case I don't come back to Fallout 3 for another couple of months. Even though there were no major changes I just wanted to have it all up to date :-)
