I installed this mod and everything seems to work except when I go to equip the pipe rifle the mod gives me it just says "i cant do that" I have more then enough strength and I cant be crippled as it is a fresh new game before I even go into the temple of trials. I can equip the brass knuckles and spear no problem but the pipe rifle seems to be glitched, Idk if its all guns or just this pipe rifle and other pipe rifles work but its not something I wanna figure out, to get more invested in a save file I cant play? No thank you, but curious if you might know whats causing this or if its potentially a conflict with something else?
I downloaded and used the cheat chest, I was able to use other guns out of it, I don't know if it is just the pipe rifles in general or that specific pipe rifle in particular given through the mod
On a fresh install with of the latest version of the restoration project and updated to the latest version of sfall and no other mods I still have this issue.
It's been quite a few years since I created this mod. Just confirming that I retested this with a new installation through Steam. It still works fine. Please be sure you follow the directions precisely.
Did you follow all of the instructions in the description page? I just did a clean install of FO2, then followed the instructions on that page, to the letter. It still works, just as it did so many years ago when I created the mod.
I just wanna say your cheat chest for fallout 2 was very great however i run into a problem with finding the proper folder for this starting inventory mod. I'm currently playing the steam version and apparently steam moved the script folder somewhere else. I understand you are a busy person and i would really appreciate it if i was given the location for the steams script folder. Also google is not giving me much answers either.
Put ARTemple.int in your Fallout 2/Data/Scripts folder. If you use the steam version, it is \Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout 2\data\scripts. Please note, this folder MAY need to be created if you have not modded FO2 before.
Sorry to be a bother, but does "Scripts" need to be capitalized?
Even though I'm probably going to figure it out shortly, it could be useful next time in case I forget. I'm really good at forgetting, you know. :-P
APPEND 1: The "scripts" subfolder does NOT need to be capitalized. Again, sorry to have been a bother. APPEND 2: When I tried to equip the Pipe Rifle (was hoping for a 10 mm, but I guess that'd be OP as a starting weapon), I found that my character sprite disappeared! My game didn't crash, and I reappeared when I unequipped it, so I guess it isn't always fatal when you try to load a sprite that doesn't exist. I'm using mostly vanilla Fallout 2, from Steam, if that matters.
