What's on at C3?

C3 will include over 27 hours of modding-related content including a few very special guests.

Keynote Speakers

  • Creature Craft/Fantasy Art with Jonah Lobe - Jonah is an artist, game dev, world-builder, and a former Character Artist at Bethesda Game Studios. He worked on The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Fallout 3, and Fallout 4. Jonah's notable works include creating the dragons of Skyrim and reimaging the super mutants and deathclaws of Fallout. He’ll be doing a talk on creature craft and fantasy art, explaining how he creates creatures for games and hoping to inspire modders looking to make their own new creatures.
  • Level & World Building with Joel Burgess and Daryl Brigner - Joel is the current Studio Head, and co-founder of Soft Rains, an indie game studio. He was previously a Senior Designer at Bethesda Game Studios who worked on The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion, The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim, Fallout 3, Fallout 4 and Fallout 76. Daryl was the Lead Level Designer for Fallout 4’s Far Harbor, one of the most beloved DLCs by the community. His work also appears in The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim, Fallout 3, Fallout 76 and Starfield. They’re going to be doing a talk on level design covering what they’ve learned, how they approach it and more to help modders plan out their mods.

The Cause

C3: will raise funds for the Make-A-Wish Foundation throughout the event, granting wishes to children in more than 50 countries living with critical illnesses. More than 27,000 wishes were granted in 2022, bringing hope and joy to these amazing children and their families. Children worldwide rely on gaming (and their favourite content creators) to help them through the isolation and fear of their diagnoses. The event is a great opportunity to bring your community together to do something amazing for a child in their most vulnerable time and grant their most heartfelt wish.

Does anyone have links to the various trailers and showcases. The link hub here was a disaster and it only showed the schedule. Hope next year there is better management. Also maybe making a dedicated YouTube channel for future events?

Why would you include Morrowind in the promotion art and not have any Morrowind mod showcases :(

We cast a wide net to ask mod authors to participate across all Bethesda titles. No one from Morrowind modding scene signed up. This event is not a one-time thing, maybe next time we have MW stuff to feature :)

I can also answer that. We asked modders and mod teams for all of the games C3 will come to represent. Some of them didn't feel ready to showcase this year and wanted to wait before showing what they're working on, others just have a lot going on personally juggling life, working on their mod, and then trying to prep trailers/showcase for the public.

Which Morrowind mod authors did you contact? I run the Morrowind Modding Community Discord and I didn't hear anything about this, I know a lot of modders (including myself) who would have jumped at the chance.

I also think you kind of missed the boat on current (= in the last five years) Morrowind modding, when you "cast a wide net" did you ask people who used to mod Morrowind back in the day and who have largely moved on to other games (not all of them, but most have either dropped off or moved on)?

Have you looked at Morrowind mods of the month for the last few years and asked any of the people regularly featured there? There is a quite active current scene dropping amazing mods that would have seemed impossibilities two or even one decade ago thanks to advancements in both engine hacks on classic MW and progress on openMW.

I guess the question is "how was this net cast, as it was obviously not via a nexus news article". It's honestly a little odd given the origins of Nexusmods and how tightly it is rooted in MW modding.

The Skyblivion streams can be found on Rebelzize's youtube channel.

The others don't seem to exist on Youtube.

Sounds like you'll be able to watch them live on twitch or... elsewhere(?) if you miss the streams and want to watch them later.

If you click on the second link in the article you can head to the calendar with Twitch links for every feature. The individual links are also provided by clicking the title for each presentation

      @Pickysauras

This is the only place I have seen 'How' to join the events. Really interesting info that I want to see, a worthy cause too, but let down with really poor explanation for those clicking through on how to join.

Not sure if it's too late to change the info now,  but in future please would you (meaning whom ever is in charge) make the links for joining very clear and at the front of the marketing, rather than buried in a comment on a random page. Also  make the links to join a separate link titled as such, because as it's currently displayed clicking on the tiles doesn't get to any event, just the blurb for it. In fact I'm still looking for the link you have said exists.

All the links on there just keep routing back to the event page. Unable to join or view the events.

It's the same for me, all links lead back to the event page. I really really like this event but it's super hard to follow. I was extremely confused yesterday how the event hopped from stream to stream, which made it neigh impossible to start watching again after taking a break. I think the schedule with working links to the channels should be front and center with such news. Everything else is secondary.

There are no Twitch links as far as I can see. The title just redirects to the event page. The only way I was able to watch some of those showases was by being already subscriber to the channels on Twitch. Trying to look for any of the other ones is a nightmare. I hope we at least get a list of links once all the VODs are up...

So sad that C3 takes place before my weekend, I'm excited to watch them when I have the chance. Shoutouts to everyone who makes it possible and/or is presenting, I know a handful of you, and I know you'll knock it out of the park. 😄😄

Because we started creating and planning this before Bethesda brought out the Creations marketplace and the tool is literally called Creation Kit.
