Don't forget that you can also check out the Bugs section if you would like to report a bug or an issue, however, make sure that you ONLY have my mod installed! This mod is NOT meant to be compatible with any other mod.
I started a fresh game and only installed this modpack, but the menu will crash when I start a new file and I can't make it into
the game. I have changed the settings to 4x anti-aliasing and no effect detail. Any advice?
*edit*
realized I should try with a completely new game even though my save file was a new game autosave- I will update if this works
Anyways, The Reused Assets... sorry, The Lost Content is a textbook example of quantity over quality. There will be a lot of new things for you to see and interact with. Just don't expect them to make any sense half the time, along with being janky and taking longer than usual. Like the intro section in Oakvale, it has a new, extended cutscene showing the bandits and Jack attacking the village. It looks goofy as all get out, and then is followed by the vanilla cutscene just repeating the same plot point. Or (spoilers) when you fight Maze later on, he gives his dramatic dying speech, then you just pull him to his feet, shake his hand, he says something like "Ok thanks", and congratulations you have saved Maze. He will be in random maps throughout the world for you to just stumble into, with no interactions. This does not happen because you saved him; he's just like that the whole game. It's a bloody Maze-jima Everywhere system. You'll even run into him on mandatory paths while the quest objectives is to meet with him. You just have to ignore the random NPC Maze wandering around to go speak to the correct NPC Maze. It's a baffling decision really.
The new content ranges from forgettable to unappealing. At least none of it was outright broken or tedious? It's mostly the same areas but now you have long stretches of nada added to entrances and exits. Like getting to Bowerstone just has an extra mile of nothingness besides a reused, joke demon door. Just adds time to get to Bower on your first venture, before you just teleport there the rest of the game and ignore the added path entirely. Though the new maps cause problems. Try to lead someone to Oakvale, and they'll get stuck in the archway in Barrow Fields. You'll have to manually push them until their navigation AI recognizes the ground again. There are also still crashes throughout the mod, though nothing too common. Just an occasional annoyance. The new maps range from pointless to nonfunctional. Like there's a new "Advanced Guild Training" area that has zero tests that actually do anything nor reward you with anything impressive. Like a trap filled hallway you just walk through, ignoring all the traps which have no effect. It feels like beta content tossed in there without any attempts at cohesion.
All in all, it's a mod that can be fun streaming it blindly to friends who already played Fable 1, just for laughs while tossing back a pint or two. I don't think any of the added content enhanced the game at all.
( I tried the anti-aliasing and effects detail trick that you have suggested, but it crashed at the very end of the guild training, where you have to use the experience fountain. I also tried not collecting items that are not supposed to be in my inventory, which helped a little.)
I have also observed, that in my case, when I skipped all the cutscenes, the game was more prone to crash. I hope you will have time to polish this mod, because what I have seen from it, was really cool. Best of luck with your work.
Loving this expansion pack so far :D ! I love what you've done with the expanded regions and extended cutscenes. I've had a few issues throughout that i'd like to share if i may:
1) There are some chests that do not provide me with any loot at all. There is an animation of the chest opening and that is all.
2) I decided to go to the bank to store some items, so that i can read some of the older letters and notes i had looted. I noticed one missing though - the book lying on the map the first time you enter the guild as a kid with Maze. I forgot what its name is, but i cannot find it in my inventory and i'm certain i picked it up.
3) The reason i initially downloaded the mod was the hobbe staff that i saw you wield in one of your videos. You were using it as a ranged weapon and shooting magic with it, i opened all of the chests in the Debug Menu, but none of them dropped it and one of them gave me no loot at all (refer to issue number 1).
4) The bank stash disappears. I haven't even done the wasp quest yet and decided to explore so i went to check out the bank. I stashed my silver spoons, rusty buckets, old lanterns and tattered books and exit the area and then when i come back through the Debug Zone through Bowerstone Jail i do not see any of these items under "Buy". Could you please help me out with solving these? Thanks in advance and sorry for the long message!
