No one commenting here is reading the directions included with the download. I downloaded everything and it worked fine. Verified that I could build hotel doors anywhere and the beeping from the control room is gone.
Guys, please read the documentation before saying the mod doesn't work!
sorry to be a pain, but having trouble editing some valuse after installing this patch, eg changing the population.ini (config folder) now doesnt work like before, same with power consumption for things in object_stats.csv (balance spreadsheets folder), does this patch point to different files or an archive for these else where so i can customize again?
EDIT: OK for other i found the problem is that some of the /backup/ folders is were its pulling the config files from rather than the originals. i copied them to a folder outside of the game tree, then overwrite them with the normal ones that you would muck about with before install this patch and it fixed it to the numbers that i changed. so if anyone else is having problems try editing the values in the backup folders rather than the normal balance spread sheets files.
Descriptions when dowloading files are confusing. The unskipable tutorial of the mod gets stuck when it ask me to close de minion window click on an inexisting bottom, and being no other way to close the window. Only thing it let me do is close the game, so I'm in a very stupid inifinite loop, as I cant save during the tutorial, or just skip the tutorial I dont need.
I think I have this installed correctly because I got Evil Genius through Steam so the local files is in folders within folders within folders, like one of those Nesting Dolls
Just to let you know that I created a guide for Narrow Corridors on my Wordpress page. I go by the alias Robert Driscoll on that site. Anyway, before I started modding Skyrim with my TARDIS Mod, I was into Evil Genius. Although there are mods to cheat the system to make narrow corridors, this guide teaches you how to achieve them in-game. It used to be a sticky on the Evil Planet website decades ago until it closed down.
My guide also provides hints and suggestions in base design layout and survival tactics on your first island.

Same, to confirm early on in the game that it isn't working, i can steal hear a fast loop of BEEP BEEP's in the control room. I say this since i assume you need to unlock the hotel to be able to place the hotel door anywhere? I even made sure to install this before starting a game.
