Summary of save systems that I learnt from my experiments and from others (correct at time of writing which is 5 February 2024. Will be updated if anything changes. Accurate as of version 490142). - Name of save worlds are the same on every player's system. '3ad85aea' is always the name of first world, and 3bd85c7d is always name of 2nd world. (Thanks to @Einalast) - Always comes with _info file, that tells you the name of world, altar flame level and time played on menu. The world itself is what contains worlds, and built item data, and storage data that seems to be affected by player's progress. - Some items such as eternal spells, and items, will be invisible/missing based on the player's current progress, unless they complete the game before downloading the world, or use my character file (100% complete as of version 490142 in Early Access. Thanks to @pierre32 & @Onimatsu) - Based on my experiment, you can create a new world, and then exit the game, back up your original world, place the name of the world to notepad, copy the file then paste it and rename the file exactly to the original world name - Your items will carry over in your current character regardless of the world, so you can move things around. - You can duplicate items by copying the world file, then replacing the current version with older version. - When going through copying and pasting the world, you should be fully exited from the game. If you do so while running the game, you will crash it. - Steam's sync will restore the world after you exit the game, hence why you should fully exit the game first, then go through process of changing the world. - Loading anyone's character save files can grant you achievements. If you want to make sure achievements are your original ones, do not download the save file. Thanks to @mrxfaizomar)
Thank you for this. It must have taken you a LOT of time designing it. I had a little confusion in what to copy/paste and what to leave (original). I left my original 'characters' file, renamed my original "(original)3bd85c7d_info" file (thinking I might want to play my world #1 sometime), and copy/pasted your '3bd85c7d' and '3bd85c7d_info' files into the remote folder. It worked fine, except the 'world name' changed from "My World 2" to "Test", but that's fine with me. 👍🏻
It is nice to see people sharing save files like this but with endgame equipment it is not exactly "Basic" you know? XD Just funny but somewhat spoilery, nice for those who may have played co op and have a new world with built base they can use however. Cheers
Okay. I've added character file (under optionals), with everything researched, having finished the game (For now at time of writing). Please try. Make sure you backup your character file first before you load in. I suspect it's to do with research and progress for the alchemist. See if you see everything. If yes, that's probably because it's to do with how the game works. At this time, there's no modding tools, from devs or from 3rd party so I can't do much.
If you see everything as shown in the image then yeah, that's pretty much the best I can do here.
Alright, I'll give it a try tomorrow, I need to hit the bed for tonight. I'll let you know how it goes, and if it still doesn't work, it's really not a big deal, the glider is there and I can easily craft eternal spell at the alchemist and put them in a chest. It'd be nice if it works, but I'm pretty sure we can still manage to craft the main things missing. Too bad for the level 25 mage armor though, the level 23 is fine but the 25 would be a nice + ^^ Thanks for your mod/save, will endorse it :)
Much appreciated! Will wait on your input. I've got suspicions that some of the items that are missing are really linked to your current progress, and my character has done everything hence has everything unlocked. If other people have everything unlocked on their character, then they should be able to see those. And for others who have yet to unlock everything, should be able to use my character file to see everything. If you do confirm my suspicions, I will update the description to clarify with everyone and add a summary of my findings here.
the missing items is because it's on your original character. on the world file, it's missing cause of that. if I downloaded both, transfer the missing items from your original character to your world, then load my own character it'll show those up. (RIP it pops up all of the achievements T_T)
If you mean transferring items, this works fine. If you mean using the world for the dedicated server. I suppose you could try that and see if it works. It’s a world file after all, and it’s entirely vanilla.
Hello, for those who wants to keep theyr world while having this one also (and any other world that people may share) since world save's name are always the same. so Everyone have "3ad85aea" as first world.
1- Create a new world and launch it, then quit the game (if you don't enter the world you won't have "savenumber_info" in your saves folder)
2-Go to your saves folder, should be ...\"your steam folder"\userdata\"your user ID"\1203620\remote could also be C:/user/"YourUsername"/saves games/enshrouded for some user (1203620 is the ID of the game) if you have multiple UserID in userdata, just shearch the one with the folder 1203620 inside.
There you should see your saves
3-rename the name of the save provided by the author by the name of your new save (if it's your second world, should be "3bd85c7d") So rename the files as "3bd85c7d" and "3bd85c7d_info" or whatever number your new world is
4- Take the newly renamed files from the author and place them in your saves folder and replace.
Huh, I thought the name of everyone's world save file are different. I didn't know they are the same regardless. That's news to me. Thank you, I really appreciate this info.
No worries! I'm glad this all worked out well for you. I will likely upload the latest version of my save in the future, just to properly organise everything. My building skills are not great, so this will take me time to fix up.
Hmm, possibly the info file had them. I didn't think it needed the info part but will be uploading a test version. Edit: Okay, can you try again please? It includes info file this time. Didn't do anything with the original save.

Huh, that's weird. At what level did you access them at? And how far have you progressed with your quests? I'm wondering what the info file had.
As for the info-file. I didn't include it because it only includes just the world name and info on the time progress.. It shouldn't impact the item content. which is weird for me. Edit: Okay, can you try again please? It includes info file this time.
