Loved the mod. Excellent integration. I can't lie - this beautiful design and the cat another mod placed in her house that mewed pitifully made me unable to live with killing her. What can I say - fashion beats morals sometimes. The poison resistance makes for a great, thematic reward without being OP. One small oddity: the craftable items all appear double in the menu for me, but seemingly have no discernible difference between the versions.
Sorry for being an utter neophyte when it comes to TES modding, but which files of the base mod exactly do I need to install? It says "Make sure to download either the 3BA or the BHUNP files as well, and re-export." in the description there and this sentence might as well be Japanese to me. ^^
If you're unsure, you only need to download the main file as that already provides the outfit meshes and textures conformed for a vanilla-like body shape.
The miscellaneous 3BA and BHUNP files are provided if you want to refit the outfit using Bodyslide to conform with the body presets that the 3BA/BHUNP mod offers for female characters. If you don't refit, basically if your character has larger dimensions and are using those body mods, their proportions will shrink when wearing the outfit, but will return to normal when unequipping the outfit.
Is there any way to prevent this mod from turning the entire "A Touching Effigy" quest into English? I'm playing the game in German because I wanted to experience the original.
Someone would have to make a translation patch since I'm overwriting the quest record on the English version of Enderal for this mod to adjust the quest rewards you receive from Andrasta.
I can probably make an SPID variant to distribute just the outfit to Andrasta and forgo the quest rewards if that is preferable. The armor would still be craftable after the quest.
Oh that's unfortunate that there's no way to change the reward without overriding the text too. But if you're not changing the text itself, making a translation patch should be as simple as copying over the lines from the base game, correct? What's strange to me is though that they all show up in English to me with XEdit, even though I did install the game in German.
An overwrite of a record is usually a carbon copy of what the record was in its state - since I overwrote from the English record, it carbon copies everything in English I suppose.
With my newfound knowledge a year after - I can probably think of a way to integrate the amulet as a reward somehow.
That would probably also solve the issues people are reporting down below about not receiving the reward if they had started the quest already before installing the mod, wouldn't it? :)
I always recommend starting a new playthrough when installing mods and to avoid the urge to touch your load order mid-playthrough(adding .esps is generally ok, removing them is not).
For this mod - as long as you haven't started the "A Touching Effigy" quest or met Andrasta Braveblood in your play through - it should be fine since the game engine hasn't loaded her at any point in your save file.
I just redid the quest on a test playthrough and got the amulet just fine as a quest reward when siding with her.
If you're familiar with xEdit, you can load all your mods and see if anything is overwriting the quest record and its script functions - this controls the reward that is given after siding with Andrasta. I'm not aware of any other mod on the Enderal SE Nexus that edits this quest though - if there is, you should load the DarkWitch_Enderal.esp / DarkWitch_Enderal_MalphasBlessing.esp after that one.
Already did just that, since I play with Path of the Prophet collection - I always check whether there are collisions or not (and without Malphas Blessing - it's cool but too lore-unfriendly for my tastes). And there were none. I guess it may be because I installed this mod AFTER I got the quest, even though it was before I returned to make a choice and get my reward. Yeah, I can still battle Andrasta to get the chocker, but I don't wanna - even though I'm still unsure whether I made a right decison, I stand by it. Oh, well No poison protection for me, I guess... Thanks anyway!
I almost lost my mind trying to understand how to get this freaking Physics to work and freaking up with Load Order, but the result is worth it! i guess...
